if your money is truly long, Forbes will notice and research you.....you are a successful trader doesn't mean you're big big in the global market, and how Forbes wan notice people wey only 0.1% of nairalanders Sabi?
You mustn't be globally known to be rich and successful.

I speak from personal experience. I have a friend that is worth over 3billion naira, Forbes can never know him. He owns real estate properties in Abuja, Owerri, Aba. He owns a very thriving business that his physical products alone should worth nothing less than 1.5billion naira.

I don't want to talk about myself.

Just like my friend, I know many other market traders, very simple, silent business owners who sell trucks, machineries, spare parts (cars and trucks), construction equipment (CAT, etc), Solar energy solutions, electronics and household appliances whose products alone are worth over 10billion Naira and Forbes will never know or recognize them.

You ought to know all these, but most times u guys prefer to pretend otherwise cos u believe the people that dominate the Nigerian informal business sectors are Igbos that u love to mock undecided

The issue isn't about the amount alone but if the source from it's origin is clean. We know most of them aren't clean so they can't come out even if frobes noticed them. Some that came out like vinctus obi was later busted for fraud.

There are people Richer than Dangote in this country but fear will not make them come out and be listed. I rest my case.

Why would you believe what you wrote?

So all the traders in popular Nigerian markets that started trading from scratch with one small shop and grew it to a big business that don't even know how to read and write nor browse internet are also into scam?

I am speaking because I know a lot of people in this category not some criminals who suddenly made money from Internet scam or drugs.

So you believe all the Nigerian traders and business owners who don't even know how to use a computer nor have they left Nigeria before are all into criminality? Please don't believe such crap.

Forbes can never know all the rich Nigerians, it's not possible because we don't have accurate database not because their source of income is illegal.

I used myself as an example too.

I have never engaged in criminality, instead I used to operate a blog that focused on exposing internet scammers and their methods until I started getting threats and I quit cos I was still struggling then and couldn't protect myself.

So will you also attribute my little success to crime just because Forbes doesn't know about me? Do you know how I have struggled and suffered in life to earn the meager money I have now?

Likewise my friend I talked about and many others I know personally including my siblings.

Let me enlighten you guys, Forbes usually focus on publicly listed shareholding. Forbes is highly limited in the data they have access to in Nigeria because of how Nigeria is structured without proper database management not because all the people Forbes didn't list are into criminality.

Didn't Forbes recognize the guy you mentioned that later turned to be an internet scammers? This validates what I am telling you that Forbes focuses on publicly listed and available data not that they have any way of checkmating or knowing who made their money via crime or illegality, they don't have. They mostly rely on available database in each country to draw up their list.

Take it from me, the people Forbes list as richest in Nigeria are not really the richest, I may just excuse Dangote's own but the rest is just speculation because there are other rich Nigerians who are worth billion dollars that Forbes have no access to their full net worth.

People like Young Shall Grow and Co who didn't go to school but worked the soil from scratch for decades to amass their wealth, how can Forbes rate them when Forbes don't have full access to their true net worth?

But you are free to believe whatever you want to believe but discerning and exposed people who understand how this thing works will definitely understand my point, have a lovely day

Maybe you should reread myself and the other guy comments slowly and try to comprehend it. There's no way Forbes will know all the richest people in the world and some too are not even interested.

But in Nigeria most billionaires in dollars (we aren't talking about you or your siblings, we are talking about people who are richer than Dangote in dollars) wouldn't dare to come out because 99% of them cant account for their money in a legit way.

People who have real exposure to these wouldn't write what you wrote up there.

Ciao.
