Why don't the likes of Tony Elumelu come out for President?

He’s a generous billionaire businessman. It’s not like he knows about good governance and socio-political transformation.

What you are looking for is President Peter Obi to appoint Tony Elumelu as Cbn Governor or Trade Minister to help boost our exports.

This type of reasoning is what has been holding us back. Tinubu taking Naira from 455 to N1500 knows 100x less, or his compatriot Buhari.

Most of these private folks will perform much better in a worse case scenario.

Give power to the person who has capacity, not in a deputy or sub role.

This is because we largely operate a patronage/oligarch system were people become and remain rich by the patronage system not neccesarily by hardwork.
The rules are arbitrarily applied and enforced. since the system made you rich they could also make you poor so the oligarch would remain "agip" i.e support any goverment in power else they are reduced to pauper. attempting to contest would be suicidal exccept thier is a record of you running a successfull business also in the very competitive western world so you could move your bussiness there if you are targeted here.

Lol... No honest businessman will ever think of being president of a country especially Nigeria except they have retired from actively managing their business(es).

That said, politics and business and 2 very different fields. Okorocha was a great business man but terrible Governor. Even Peter Obi (no offense to him).

My point is, you can have the final say in your business, you can't when running a country. There's power struggle here and there, too many variables out of your control.

All 3 leading aspirants made it clear they will remove subsidy, tinubu removed subsidy cos he became president same thing obi and Atiku would also do.

So when subsidy was removed, do u expect the price of naira to go up or come down?
