They will hire teachers that can teach those subjects.

It looks promising on the surface but you need qualified teachers and funds to implement the syllabus. Why can't languages like German, Japanese be learnt alongside French, instead of Arabic?

beyond the curiculum, there are many other aspects of education in Nigeria that need serious attention.

1. teacher eduction and re-training
2. use of mordern teaching aids and ways to improve information disemination to students eg watching relevant videos in class, field trips
3. de-emphasize only knowledge in favour of application
4. students should be helped to participate more in class - students should make presentations, do joint project work etc Builds communication skills.
5. classrooms should have a standard design

True…. The sad reality is that this government is not ready for proper governance. Like you rightly pointed out, the holiday period was a good time to retrain the teachers but they’re more interested in the buzz the news would generate than actually doing the right thing.

With regards to your first paragraph, that was what I was thinking. They should have used some part of the holidays to retrain teachers in relative to added options in the curriculum, especially relating to tech. But still good all the same.

If we really own It! Anybody should be fine with just secondary education. One should be able to get any entry level job with this, float a successful business! Also, it should be free, compulsory and accessible to all. Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa should be made compulsory here. Maybe international languages in penultimate and final year.

And put tertiary education where it really belong. Research, Innovation, Advance business management.

"A generation which ignores its history has no past and no future" Our leaders have done the future of this nation a great disfavor by abolishing subject like history and civic studies from our curriculum. The great nations like US and China we struggle to copy continue to ensure the history of their nation and the struggle for independence is constantly woven into the mindset of their children. Its very sad

Sciences: Physics (mechanics, waves, electricity, nuclear physics), chemistry (organic, inorganic, industrial, analytical), biology (genetics, ecology, biotechnology), environmental science.
Technology & Innovation: Programming (Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS), data science basics, AI & robotics, digital entrepreneurship, cybersecurity.
Social Sciences: Government & law, economics (micro, macro, trade), history (Africa, world revolutions), philosophy & ethics, entrepreneurship.

One would have said this is a welcome development though. But the dispensation we are in is very erratic and capricious. What training has the teachers gone through to prepare them for the task ahead? They just woke up and came out with this to play to the gallery. All the schools in the rural areas will the teachers key into this new era. Some of them cannot use android phone how would they be able to teach the new subjects.

Teachers need to be retrained.

This is laudable,mostly the return of history,but no technical skills training like plumbing, painting,tiling ,bricklaying etc?

No AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE, whereas they said go back to farm.
No Geography in SS classes again? They must be joking. No country can develop without Geography, take it or leave it.
They should introduce Corruption as a course too!!!

no much subjects, good one. year one for school na so courses almost reach 15 i ask myself that year na primary school i start again when we wan face the the reason we take come high institution

I am glad that Nigerian history is reintroduced into the curriculum.

Is Geography not part of the senior secondary curriculum?
