Omowale2023:He met inflation at 18.9%. The previous year it was 16%. It is now down to I believe 23% and falling. With a stable currency, inflation will keep on falling. |

Omowale2023:What he is talking about the is black market and official rate. But I wonder why it is something worth celebrating. APC met dollars at less than 250 at the black market and it is trading between 1600 and 1650 now. This is not worth celebrating at all. Tufiakwa! |

It says a lot when they are desperate for validation from the opposition. Naira is still about 1800 to 1€. But according to you, it's waxing stronger. Being able to use a Naira card doesn't increase the value of Naira. I dey certain this Onanuga cram book to pass all exams he wrote. He can't really come up with a better argument for his principal. |

helinues:olodo ! is it that difference between dollar and Naira abi N30 margin between official window and parrel market (in Naira) it takes your two highest currency to exchange for $1 and Tinubu thinks he can sugarcoat that absurdity claiming " STABILiTY" What about the " IMPACT" .. the reality is our naira is valueless and useless, imagine Nepa giving your area a "stable" low current that cant carry fan or Tv ... its stable ![]() |

So according to you, there only three Nigerians. Once Obi, Atiku and El Rufai commend the situation, every other Nigerians can go home regardless their own opinion on the matter. Sometimes these praise worshippers of this government don't really know when they are making mockery of themselves while trying so hard to tackle whoever they see as opposition. |

These people are shameless. Did you meet Naira at N1,500/$? May God forgive you people for plunging the country into serious hunger in the name of defending your policies. |

blacksam01:As much as i am trying to understand your POV, i cant make sense of Naira is the problem, how ?? Naira dont nuture itself, moreover naira is just reflection of your economic activities and those economic activities are mainly influence by govt policies To drive Naira up, we must upscale productivity, rite Now look at Tinubu actions and inactions keenly is it driven to upscale productivity?? does his policies reflect "Enabling environment" do you know what it cost to run a business daily now, ask CEOs Naira can't grow itself, it's highly dependent on the government direction |

DeShineShine:Pray that you have understanding of what is going on ,the time naira was ₦200 to $1 ,it was heavily subsidies like pms. The naira can actually ₦200 to one dollar if only you and me reduce our hunger for imported goods. |

chidiokay:First of all... The naira is not detached from Nigeria, so if u mentioned naija being the problem through policies, then u agree that in naira vs dollars, naira is the problem not dollars... Again, I want u to know that not only domestic production strengthen a nations currency...the general name is "capital inflow".. Now alot of ppl achieve capital inflows through export sales, but many also achieve that through international repatriation of funds made abroad... Another mechanism for strengthen of the naira is to control naira supply...and allow the FX to flow in..but strictly guide that all local transactions are done in the local currency...all you need do is pay the three tier of governments in FX earned currency...and I ligated them to exchange and must pay for contracts and wages in the local currency.. Then u go to the cbn and control the rate of cash supply to make so much FX to chase few naira..that way, naira will appreciate... Why i said NAIRA/Nigeria is the problem is because, our balance of payments has been +be for the past 3years, yet our currency remains weak..this is simply because of excess loan servicing payments... So the fed govt has become the sole reason for worsening local currency through excessive international borrowing |

blacksam01:i dont know why you chose to complicate whats Complicated already .... Naira is just a note ,., consider it an instrument like "trumpet" ... it is what you blow into the trumpet that will sound out .. digest that Naira or dollar being the problem is not a valid assertion. they are just mere tools of transactions and national symbol Not only domestic product strengthen the currency I AGREE But what you seems not to know is a low driven productive economic mitigates "Capital flow" .. Investors work with circumspection tew Controlling Naira supply is not a measure to strengthen the Naira in real sense, instead its a measure to curb " Inflation" in most cases See dont creat unnecessary CONFUSION ... what can strengthen the Naira( organic) is " Local Productivity and Policies driven toward facilitating " Enabling Environment" From optimal productivity you get impactful high GDP , options for export that consolidated balance of trade, and lastly mass production compels "deflation" Govt Poilicies is like blowing into the trumpet, policies are the sky above economic activities, it can either creat harvest or a famine So Far Govt is our Problem, they know whats right but they wont do it cos Nigeria's setback is a blessing to the ruling class |

chidiokay:Do u know that Nigeria is on a +be balance of payments for the past 3years... With data showing it's national cheque balances .. Now explain why the naira is still in tatters..? |
| Re: Dollar No Longer King But Atiku, El-rufai, Obi Won’t Celebrate - Onanuga by blacksam01: 8:36pm On Sep 03, 2025 |
chidiokay:U dnt seem to think outta the box.. u are stuck in the textbooks .. I am a vast thinker... I know the end from the beginning... .u continue to believe productivity is mainly for exchange rate valuation... While in real sense it is for economy ratings and for employment... Ur productivity is aimed at restraining over import, and promote export Restrictions if import means saving hard earned funds within the state, promotion not export means earning other ppls hard earn funds through exchanges... Now answer this question... Country A does 10percent GDP, but have 90% GNP-GDP... Country B does 90% GDP, but 10% GNP- GDP... Which one of the two situations do u believe will strengthen the local currency more .? |

blacksam01:Oga! there is nothing outside the box when it comes to economic setup ... smes/productivity are key component to drive it what influence greatly xchange rate valuation is Balance of trade, Uncle how do you achieve a balance of trade without more exports and what can you export without "productivity" ... you see the connection now Indian, china economic are what they are today cos of productivity ... For an economist the main aim of " productivity is not to curb imports rather the main goals are GDP and Export revenue .... those two are vital boost to strengthen local currency Restriction of import without adequate alternative local production is what you see in Nigeria today ... you see contra bands flooding the market Bro your question is funny.... you know why ![]() GNP is always inclusive of GDP, your 90% GNP is a summation of GDP n foreign ![]() if what i understand your question to be is correct, i will pick 90% Gdp because ... Gudnite
