*Naira is so much devalued and spending power eroded.

*Nigeria Inflation numbers has been rebased from 2009-2014

*Nigeria GDP has been rebased

*Due to Inflation, Travel expenses 2 years ago has to be considered, hence 20 million of today compared to 2 years ago now has a purchasing power of 15 million.

*Your cousin's present condition/economic reality is the UK is a text book example for this op not to consider this her japa dream.

I digress that 20M still isn't small money by any standard for a Nigerian living in Nigeria, so while I discourage her from emigrating, I will all also suggest she invest that 20M into a safe investment like in Nigeria money market NOT land banking, NOT stocks or Equities but only low yield money market investments.

This will guarantee her financial security, cushion against inflation and steady financial growth, she can worry about physical/environmental security by living in a safe area in Nigeria. Get solar to enjoy regular power. Advance more in her present job.

The money isn't enough for canada

While I totally agree, going abroad is not the ultimate. We can not also deny how much it has helped families in Nigeria: some started seeing the benefits in ĺess than 8 months.

Yes there are cases when it turned sour..very painful tales some ended. So we can safely say its an adventure that can end in a negative way or a positive way.

My main point is this: can we deny that buisness in Nigeria today is just as risky as travelling abroad? So many are quick to say invest.

Please let's be quick to also drop buisness ideas. So many Nigerians never dreamt of relocating abroad even when they have the means, situations forced many into it, one of such is buisness failure.

For those who have very good buisness ideas please be kind to drop it. I for one love this nation with all of my heart, Its my desire to be part of the builders of this nation, but how do we build without being drown in the present economic fluctuation?

Pls don't go to Canada from Nigeria, refusal rate for study visa for 2024 alone was more than 80% .

Uk....study route? 95% sure if everything is done properly . But its better to go with someone ( research based courses allow dependents) to help out ( husband) cuz bills choke but u as couples they can succeed as time goes on... nah future investment, and for your kids too... and from there u can enter Canada/ US more easier. That 20m can do it, with £3k to £5k schs deposit, Visa and POF for one person 5.5m and for 2 person nah like 9m.
