Vehicles these days are o only made for fancy. They are not strong. Imagine how this motor is squeezed like a paper.

I always wonder why government allows these people to operate. Do they generate any revenue for the government?
Re: Touts Chase Family Of 3 To Death In Abuja (Photos) by Sheuns(m): 9:35pm On Sep 03, 2025
It’s the government that enables these touts. Especially the Lagos state government and Tinubu.

They allowed them fester for too long.

I know a government will come in Lagos that’ll deal with these folks head on.

Sometimes, it is not that you are weak. For the sake of peace, just comply.

Even if you do not want to comply, turn off your vehicle. Just simply parking your car or applying brake when they were dragging could've prevented this.

So many needless drama and death

The eyesore on Bourdillon Road
2nd January 2025

Beyond his neighbours, there is something about the sight of people hanging around a president’s residence that does not speak well of his leadership capabilities. Maybe no one has nudged him to see it, but the impression that spectacle on Bourdillon Road generates is that Tinubu enjoys the sight of suffering humans and thrives in—and through— their poverty.

If all these years, impoverished people hang around you and you remain comfortable enough to keep them just so they can be handed tokens of your large heart, then it means you have a pro-poverty mindset. Such a frame of mind is oriented toward cultivating poverty rather than stimulating abundance.

That is why he could unproblematically relate the story of his “friend” who went from using five Rolls Royce to a far-less valued car and not consider the import of the nonsense he was saying. That spurious account was an indication that this is a man for whom poverty—of others, not himself—is an ideal.

This story is not complete. I await further details before I can make up my mind on what to comment.
There is absolutely nothing to say. These so called AMAC boys are stationed at every junction and intersection to ensure every citizen pays for transporting goods, period.

They started out many years ago checking to ensure commercially registered vehicles were duly licensed by them including things like mobile adverts, etc

Today they have extended their mandates to profile certain models of vehicles which they deem commercial and have even made it a law that private vehicles cannot transport articles of any kind.

So if I go to borrow my friends lawnmower on the other side of town to groom my garden I am breaking some financial law by transporting it in my car or truck.

That is what local government administration in the Federal Capital has been reduced to. The very face of grassroots governance.

How does an ọmọlúwàbí replace PDP prosperity with APC extreme poverty shege?

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Chief Olawale Edun has said the last time Nigeria’s economy looked stable was about a decade ago.

He made this statement during his maiden press conference as Minister of Finance where he outlined President Bola Tinubu’s vision, agenda and strategy for the economy.

He said, “I think as we all know, we are not where we should be. The economy is barely growing above the rate of population growth.

“But it was not always so, and I think in trying to look at the way forward, if we now have a situation of slow growth, double-digit inflation, weak/depreciating exchange rate, as well as security concerns that are resulting in an economy that is not growing and not taking Nigerians out of poverty.

“If we think back to the last time when the economy was stable- when it was growing, when inflation was low, and the interest rate was affordable, that period was about a decade ago. Growth was about 6% in 2013 and 2014.”

Is Abuja an open air psychiatric ward ? Why would Wike allow touts to roam freely ?
Wike is only interested in grabbing land for himself. He is not interested in governance, which is why he can’t be bothered by children being out of school because teachers are owed salaries despite increasing government revenue and budget.

FCT Teacher’s Strike: The unfolding crisis that has kept Abuja’s children out of school for months

The industrial action is the third in a series since late 2024.

Those agbero guys are very notorious in Abuja recently.
I injured one with a screw driver in my car last month, I stopped to ask him for direction and next thing he was dragging my car key with me.
I immediately removed a screwdriver in my Glovebox and stabbed him on his hand
cheesy

As a man, once you are with your family on the Nigerian roads, please don't show any stubbornness with those on the streets - the police, agberos or touts. Just hail them, settle and move on. It doesn't worth it exposing your family to danger while arguing with a drunk policeman or touts. I still remember the case of a man, whose son, got killed by a police bullet, as the man tried to evade the police

The man should have just stopped and given them something the moment they grabbed his steering wheel. I'm not supporting what the touts did to him. I'm seriously against them. But when you're in a lawlessness country like Nigeria where touts would be threatening people's lives and police would be at the next junction extorting from those who survived the touts, you'd have to apply wisdom.

He was in the car with his wife and kid(s) how much was the money they were demanding for that he had to gamble with his family?

I remember one time I dropped a friend off at Anthony under bridge, he wanted to climb the hill to access the express so I moved in to drop him off. As he came down and left, one rugged tout started running towards me, I wanted to zoom off then I noticed he carried a very big stone, I just stopped and gave him N500 yes you heard me right. Five hundred naira which he collected and walked away. Imagine if I had stubbornly tried to zoom off and he had shattered my windshield, it would have cost me up to 200k to replace it. But I applied wisdom and paid just 500 and left peacefully.

We should learn how to apply wisdom. Everything shouldn't be about aggression cos these touts have nothing to lose. I've seen them pull down a conductor from a moving bus. They're ready to fight and die. So dragging with them isn't a wise option.

May their souls rest in peace.
You are patient and wise. However, it's the inability to resist these touts that encourages their actions. But no matter the circumstances, do not endanger the lives of your loved ones even if it means playing the fool. It's a terrible loss.

An average agbero is a mad person looking normal.

The man made a great mistake by being aggressive with them.
