That's where you know how civilized and tolerance the Yorubas are, especially if you are a fellow Yoruba from another States. Yorubas are so magnanimous and civilized, don't discriminate against fellow Yorubas, the only civilized tribe in Nigeria presently. Every Yoruba State is open to every Omo oduduwa to govern as long as you follow the right channels. Yorubas aren't like some funny tribe that their fellow tribeman from another States within the same region can't even gain employment in their state civil service. That's a curse tribe.....really a curse region.....

Since “Lagos”. was expanded into a state it brought people from other parts of yoruba land into “Lagos state”. Ikorodu, Lekki, Epe etc are ijebus, Abule Egba are people from Abeokuta, Abule Ijesha are people from Ilesha. a man can have ancestral roots in Ogun state and be a Lagos indigene. similar relationships exists with people from Oyo, Osun etc. I have ancestral roots in 3 possibly 4 yoruba states. Every yoruba is from Ife. No Ibo is yoruba.

There are indigenous Lagosians who originate from the Nupe in Niger state as they shared a boundary with old Oyo empire. Such relationships and does not exist and can never apply to an Ibo because no Ibo is ever a yoruba. We have never shared a boundary with you. We did not know of your existence or interact with you until recently. There are some people of the SS that can trace their ancestry or families to Lagos or other yoruba states, similarly like I said some Nupe people. Such does not and can never apply to an Ibo. Our history never intertwined, our cultures and values are total opposite. We have nothing in common except Nigeria.

An Ibo can never be an indigene of Lagos or yorubaland. You can only ever be an Ibo residing in the SW.

Ogu are settlers just like the Yewas, Saros, Egbas, Egbados e.t.c even though the Ogus are originally from Ife as claimed by the Akran of Badagry in a recent interview.

The first nations of present day Lagos are Aworis Yorubas and Ijebu Yorubas.

As per Oba of Lagos. Asipa, the father of Ado (first Oba of Lagos) is Awori while the mother is Benin.
Erelu Kuti also married and Ijesha babalawo of her father. Therefore, their ancestry has since moved to Ijesha (Ilesha) as well.

Tinubu is from Lagos, from that same Tinubu's family; his mother is from Osun. The man isn't coming out to tell anyone his story because he wants people to continue to argue on something that's so irrelevant to them. Real Lagosians know that Tinubu is one of them.

Most people don't know the Tinubu story but I've heard it from those who are reputable and know him form childhood and know his father.

His maternal kins are from Iragbiji but the circumstances of his birth into the Tinubu family is not for discussion in this kind of forums.
