The mantis: original sin is here and I like it so far. Lol reminds me of hunter with a scalpel with the serial killer parent but here the child is a policeman not a forensic expert like hwas. So apparently it's an adaptation of a French drama and I guess I have to go look for the original work. Nice to see Kim Bora working with this director for a 2nd time, I hope he continues to give her more work cos now that my baby girl is a divorcee, Korea being the kind of country it is, there is less chance for her to be cast in dramas😩( I mean even when she was single, it's not like she was some A-list actress talk more of now that she got married and divorced 😩). Ji Chang Wook was supposed to be the male lead but apparently there was scheduling conflicts so he pulled out and tbh I'm glad he did. He would have been awesome in this character but even though it's possible, I honestly don't see my queen Go Hyun Jung as being old enough to play his mother 🤭🤣 she's more like sugar mummy material for him so Jang Dong Yoon is a better fit for me as the son even though he does seem too young and baby-faced to play the detective role but I mean he's literally the same age as his character in the drama na God bless am with baby face 🤣. I get why the police people offered the mantis her deal but I don't understand why they've been at her beck and call for 23 years 🤷 I mean she did confess to being a serial killer, only 2 people on the outside know she's alive and living well, I feel like it could be easy to kill her secretly and end that chapter so I don't understand why they're letting her ride them. Is it because they never really found concrete evidence against her and are just going by her confession? Is she even really a serial killer? I hope the grandad is not the copycat murderer tho. Also the part where the grandfather went to visit them. How do you go visit your grandchild and not say hello to the wife and vice versa, that one seems a little erhhh for me cos no spouse or granddad in law will go visit the other without saying hello even if na 1 second especially when there's no conflict between them. I read that the writer actually wanted to adapt it to a movie but the production company decided they should make it an 8 episode series. I hope this does not mean we'll get episodes that have nothing to offer o cos there's a huge difference between a 1-hour, 30-minute movie and an 8-hour drama series. Here's hoping it continues to go well sha afterall the original work was also a series so I'm sure they can make it work. By the way, where is the one and only bodyguard when Mrs mantis is climbing the roof hiding things? Isn't he supposed to watch her 24/7

I really really wanted to finish you and everything else yesterday but 😩 first of all, work. 2nd of all, I had a vigil last night so I tried my best but I couldn't finish it. I have literally not slept all through yesterday because I went right back to the drama after I left church early this morning but I think I have to pause and sleep now if I don't want to kill myself. I honestly can't promise that I'll finish the drama this weekend but I've watched enough to give my take on the drama. First of all, I'll talk about what I hated which is the length 😩 what do you mean you're a Netflix drama and you're 15 whole episodes. They should have just released it weekly instead of all at once. Me that like to watch all episodes as soon as Netflix releases them, I'll now spend 15 hours at a go watching 1 drama? Lol maybe when I was young and jobless but not now biko. 15 episodes was just too long especially the grown up part of the drama, they could have shrunk it to 2 episodes tbh cos I think it was unnecessary. Good but unnecessary. Now for the good parts urghhhh the story is so solid! I can't vouch for the latter part of the drama since I haven't finished watching it and so far I think I'm getting bored of the grown up antics and the love triangle that refuses to end but you see the early younger part of the drama? So so good. I'm always a fan of melodramas but this is probably the first melodrama that I'm watching that's not about romance but about friendship. I know some people would call this a slice of life drama but to me it hits deeper that's why I call it a melodrama. Thankfully, I've never had a friendship breakup but I've seen people go through friendship breakups and I can tell you that shi!t hurts especially when it's with someone you consider a best friend that you tell all your secrets to. I've seen best friends go 6 years not speaking to each other and even just watching them be that way was stressful for me till one of the friend moved out of the country so I totally get the story. My thing tho is, I honestly don't consider these 2 people friends because what kind of friendship is that? They both had serious insecurities and were envious of each other. The funny thing is eunjung thought sangyeon's life was perfect and wanted everything she had and sangyeon also thought the same of eunjung and I'm like are you guys too blind to see that you both envy each other and none of you have perfect lives?. Honestly that's why I don't believe their friendship even though they believed in it. I think they were just 2 people forcing themselves to be in each other's lives because they had a shared childhood experience and tbh that does not make you friends at all. They could have just been acquaintances who attended high school together. Sangyeon lied to eunjung many times, kept things from her out of envy and even lusted after her boyfriend, is that one a friend? Eunjung also had serious inferiority complex towards sangyeon even though she also admired her but tbh if she was a good friend she would have been able to guess that sangyeon had been blaming herself for her brother's death. Tbh I don't blame Eunjung too much cos she was worried talking about the brother would only cause more harm and I mean you can't really tell people how to handle grief but I still insist that if she was a good friend, she'd have known how sangyeon felt even though she didn't tell her. I'm pretty sure if it was Kim sang hak that was nursing some form of guilt, even without telling her, she'd have been able to figure it out cos she loved him but with sangyeon there was always that barrier between them. Lol not my girl Park ji hyun going back to stealing people's boyfriends in dramas🤣 (even though technically she liked him first) I thought after playing female lead in flex x cop, she'd leave all this annoying 2nd female lead characters but lmao she went right back to it. I was so happy eunjung broke up with sang hak in school. Tbh I understand him very well, I know it was pity he felt for sangyeon and not love and he was only confused but tsk tsk pity is also an emotion and with the ties they had with cheong sang hak, if he had continued to hang out with sangyeon, that pity could have easily become love. When he started hiding things from eunjung, I understood him, when he lied that he was with his mom, I understood him but when he refused to pick his calls, read her message and turned off his phone ah! I went mad, and ultimately that was the reason why she broke up with him and it made plenty sense to me. You don't treat your girlfriend like that just cos you're trying to help a friend. I understood him but it was a no no. Honestly the first part of this story was so tight, so well written, so good. I loved that she kicked the boy to the curb and kept the friendship cos that's how it should be but well I've already said many times that their friendship was fake cos after that she kept forcing herself to be ok with sangyeon when she had not yet forgiven her instead of just ending the mumu friendship too. Because of her anger she missed out on being there for sangyeon when she really needed her. I haven't finished the drama but so far, I'm not really enjoying the older part cos it seems like they've had no character development whatsoever and it should be annoying but I get it because even with real humans a lot of people only grow in age, they do not change anything about themselves or learn to be better people, they still carry their baggage from their childhood/youth so again pretty good and realistic story but I was sad to see that sang hak is still in love with eunjung (this is actually not bad cos he was always in love with her and he at least grew mature enough to distinguish that what he felt for sangyeon was pity and comradrie and not love) but sangyeon is in her 30s and still jealous and insecure of eunjung, she's still pining after a man that doesn't like her but her best friend. Even after learning about her brother's death, she didn't change, still hated her mom and didn't try to understand her(I mean no wonder she got cancer with all that hate sitting in her heart) eunjung is still in her 30s and is still jealous and insecure of sangyeon, she still couldn't learn to forgive sanghak and couldn't get over the fact that sangyeon had a crush on him even though she knows fully well that she's the one he loves. I was happy she broke up with him in college cos it was the right thing to do but her not being confident enough to believe in their love for each other as adults and sacrificing their love for her "friendship" with sangyeon was such a disappointment. By the way Kim go Eun and Park ji hyun's acting 👏👏👏👏 the scene where they quarrelled in the cafe! Omo I actually started crying. You could see how much they were hurt and how they kept hurting each other. Sangyeon was angry cos eunjung wasn't there for her when she needed her and eunjung was angry thinking she was being a good friend meanwhile you haven't even forgiven the person who's supposedly your friend. Tbh that scene is probably now my 2nd favorite scene in a drama and they didn't even do much o. My no 1 scene in a drama till today is from my unfamiliar family when choo unni was fighting with her gay husband OMG the emotions felt so intense, I was like only real actors can act like this 🤣. Anyway back to this drama, I'm not sure how it'll end but I do know sangyeon is going to end up dying and eunjung never gets back with sang hak. And can we talk about cheong sang hak 😩 so heartbreaking. Immediately eunjung said that was the last time she saw him I knew he was going to commit suicide, I was so sad but when they were like he committed suicide cos he couldn't be with the woman he loved, lol I was so angry but then the real reason for his suicide was revealed and I went right back to being so sad🤣 this drama was just playing with my emotions. Imagine being a transgender in mid 90s Korea 😩. By the way o, did this drama forget eunjung was supposed to have a younger brother? We saw him in episode 1 and that was it, no more mention of younger brother at least up till where I stopped, what's up with that. Anyway I like the drama. I only hate the fact that they keep insisting these 2 are friends who love each other cos as far as I'm concerned, this was not a friendship. They were both terrible friends to each other and sangyeon was very toxic. Loved the cameos from Lee sang yoon, n and others. Now lemme sleep before I die.

By the way, I noticed Korean dramas are trying to sell euthanasia these days. I might be wrong but I think it's cos they have a low birth rate and more and more people are getting older without any descendant or family to take care of them in old age which puts pressure on the government to provide them with care homes and social workers. I think they're trying to say instead of being old and sick and stressing the government just off yourself legally 🤷 I might be wrong sha o

‎Aigoo dramas and incompetent police people 🙄 last week I was questioning where the person that's supposed to be monitoring queen mantis 24/7 goes to that he doesn't know she's hiding things in the roof, not knowing that it's because she's in the restroom and there are no cameras there which brings me to why the hell are you guarding a serial killer with "6" murders to her name and you don't put cameras everywhere? I know it's cos the guard shouldn't watch her naked but hello?? that's why we have policewomen 🤦 just get a woman to be the guard and everything would have been ok smh now this aunty went to see someone who's clearly schizophrenic and a criminal and she loosened his restraints when she's the only one in the room🤦 like did you people even attend police college 🙄. last week I suspected the grandfather might be the copycat murderer but I'm definitely wrong so now I have 1 crazy guess. At first I thought bora might be the copycat cos the silhouette of the killer looks small like it could be a female but when they said the axe Mark was strong so only a man could have done it that I decided ok it couldn't be bora it might be the grandad cos he's smallish due to his old age but he's also male so he could have that strength but now that it's clear he's not the one, I'm like what if it's actually Bora, what if she's been in contact with queen mantis and she was probably the one that asked her to even date and marry her son to keep an eye on him and that's why she got out of prison to go see her. I mean for all the world knows, queen mantis is dead but even at that there are people who idolize her, I mean we've already met 2 crazy people who idolize her and tbh even me if I hear that there's a serial killer who only targets sexual offenders and child abusers, I might not go as far as idolizing them but I would think the person is a dammnn hero and I'd probably be like release them from prison immediately 🤣 so what if Bora is also someone who idolizes her, then it'd make sense that she's the copycat but then again I could be wrong. my other crazy theory is, it seems clearer everyday that jeong I shin is the serial killer but what if she isn't. what if she's only responsible for her husband's death. I feel like that police ahjussi could have easily been the serial killer, he's a policeman who couldn't do anything to help the people of his town even though he wanted to, I can definitely see him killing the criminals in secret since their wives and children couldn't report them just like Nam Joo hyuk's character in vigilante. maybe queen mantis covered up for his crime in exchange that he takes care of her son and that's why they're still keeping her alive. lol like I said it's a crazy theory but not an impossible one. by the way uri male lead's neighbor is such a hottie and I would have shipped him with their friend but unfortunately he's damaged due to the abuse he endured as a child. let's hope the medicine he's taking is to treat his mental issues cos maybe there might be hope for him unlike unfortunate Seo gu won who is dead now and can't redeem himself. just look at the lives of people that are being destroyed just cos they met bad parents tsk tsk. Nna I thought about it and I honestly don't know what I'd do if I discovered years into a marriage that my mother in law is a serial killer. I'd understand my husband for lying and it's not that I can blame him especially since he was a child and he wasn't the one that killed anybody but I honestly don't know if I could choose to stay in the marriage, apart from the fact that I'd be hurt by the lying and probably never fully trust his words, I'd also be thinking about how that could affect my family in the future including children and bla bla bla so while I'd understand the person for covering it up, I still don't know how I'd react. what i do know is that if I were the one with a serial killer parent, id never marry anyone without telling them the truth and honestly if it's too heavy for me to say, no matter how much I love the person, I'd rather break up than marry the person with that lie even if there's a 100% chance that the truth will never come out. I really just don't feel comfortable with lies. it's my biggest pet peeve TBH

Awwn ioi are having their 10th year anniversary concert and unfortunately mina will be unable to join in cos she's currently filming 3 dramas 😩 anyway I'm glad they're going to be doing this and I'm glad the girls are still all friendly. I wonder why wannaone and izone have not been able to do a reunion, it's probably because of scheduling and different agency issues, unlike ioi where a lot of the members are no longer under big agencies and have the time to collaborate. Wannaone and izone are luckier cos a lot of their members are still very relevant to their big agencies especially izone girlies

P.s: yesterday was my queen han chae Young's birthday but I was so dead tired, I didn't even know where my phone was for most of the day 🤭 anyway happy belated birthday to her and happy birthday to my nampyeons Lee jong suk and shin dong wook oppadeul
