The venue is historical and wasn't favourable to Nigeria bcs it was the same venue we lost to Greece in 2010 WC.
So South Africa decided to pick this venue so that history can repeat itself but they have forgotten that history doesn't repeat itself it's humans who repeated history. And SA has never defeated us in a FIFA/CAF games, I see Nigeria beating SA 3:1.

Win or lose nigeria isn't going to world cup
Nigeria will be at the WC with a Slim margin a win for Nigeria is the end of the game for SA bcs I don't see SA defeating Rwanda, Zimbabwe and Benin. They are going to draw either of the 3 games. Even Lesotho isn't sure because Lesotho has the hope of going to WC . The group is open bcs SA already has -3 points and -3 goals awaiting them.

It will take a big miracle for us to qualify.
But at least we need to beat S/Africa to make a statement...
There's nothing here if Nigeria can win the remaining game, the SE should anticipate to score more goals

Seriously? Don't they have a stadium of their own over there?
No, Namibia, Lesotho,Eswatini and Zimbabwe don’t have fifa approved stadiums so they use South African stadium closer to them .

Nigeria’s downfall is not quality of football. Is the attitude of undermining other teams based on former glory. Example now their mind is already on South Africa's game as if the next opponent does not exists

Out of 6games, we only managed to win 1.
&you think it's not a big deal to win all our remaining matches, including beating S/Africa away?

Dey play.

We stand little or no chance there...
We're currently on 7 points with 4 games left.

If we win those remaining 4 matches, we'll finish with 19 points. I'm extremely confident that 19 points should be enough to make us elegible for playoffs. Cos some of the elegible teams would definitely drop points.

Nobody is deducting any point. The complaint filing was submitted beyond the stipulated submission date.
yinmu..you're not current

A three-point deduction is now likely to be handed down to Bafana Bafana before the resumption of games in September after the world soccer-governing body informed SAFA about the infringement and the possibility of a three-point deduction, but it has yet to be enforced.

While Nigerian officials and the public are closely watching the issue and have brought it to FIFA's attention, they were not the ones responsible for filing the official protest. The responsibility for the protest fell to Lesotho, and reports indicate their filing was late.

Lets clear the air right now.
According to FIFA regulations, if a team wants to lodge an official protest regarding the eligibility of a player or other match-related issues, it must formally submit the protest within 24 hours after the match ends.

Implication of Missing the Deadline:

By not filing within this specified timeframe, Lesotho technically lost the right to an official protest regarding Teboho Mokoena's eligibility. This significantly reduces the chances of FIFA taking retrospective disciplinary action based solely on Lesotho's complaint.

Generally, FIFA strictly adheres to procedural deadlines. Missing the protest deadline usually results in FIFA dismissing the claims.

Have you seen any mainstream media talking about this? Everybody continues to speculate on an issue that self expired when no protest was filed within 24 hours. Lesotho that would be the direct beneficiary is not even pushing further. Only local media and bloggers are pushing the storyline in Nigeria and Benin Republic because it's good market for them.

I’m surprised that FIFA is taking too long to resolve what a very straightforward matter is. It should and must be resolved without further delay.”

South Africa currently top the group with 13 points ahead of Rwanda (points), Benin Republic (8 points) and Nigeria (7 points) with just four games left.

Home based players shouldn’t be given any chance to near the super eagles team for the next 4 years. They are so amateurish.
As at now we are done for. What will make them finish us is if we change our minds and put 1 or 2 of them like that yeye Sodiq Ismailia into that team
This South African team is a very compact team honestly. This year they have been in and out of competitive soccer from CAF Champions league ( mamelodi and pirates) to World cup qualifier to Club World Cup (mamelodi) ..
I wish we never dismissed Gernot Rohr as he is the only coach am sure understand this current crop of Eagles.
Unfortunately,he currently coach Benin republic, one of our competitors to the world cup.
Making d playoff will be a big miracle

At this point Bafana Bafana are vulnerable
They are jittery for the 3 points FIFA want to deduct

And there's momentum with the Nigeria team

2026 WCQ: South Africa coach laments injury to key players ahead Super Eagles battlePu

Two more players have pulled out of South Africa’s squad ahead of the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Nigeria.
Hannover of Germany centre-back, Ime Okon, who has a Nigerian father, and Orlando Pirates’ Patrick Maswanganyi are the latest withdrawals.

Head coach, Hugo Broos has called up Sipho Mbule, and Thabo Moloisane as replacements for the duo.

Broos lamented the unavailability of several of his key players for the crucial qualifiers.

“This is one of the most difficult preparations I’ve had since I’ve been the coach of Bafana Bafana. We have many injuries to important players,” the Belgian told reporters.

Bafana Bafana will be away to Lesotho on Friday, before hosting Nigeria at the Free State Stadium, Bloemfontein next week Tuesday.

The former African champions top Group C with 13 points from six games.

Still upbeat about the super eagles qualifying for the World Cup. My prediction South Africa 1-2 Nigeria. Naija to win by a slim margin.

Our FA are not bothered about the progress of the team given the way they make managerial decisions.
You sack Rhor because he is not bringing out big wins despite qualifying us back then to Afcon and World Cup playoffs. They Sack paseiro because they can’t pay $120,000 salary per month. See where it has land us.
Everyone that don’t know about football were jubilating that Rhor was sacked but in me I know that the sack will take us back to square one

Before the game with Nigeria

South Africa resume their 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Lesotho on Friday.

The Group C fixture will be massive for Bafana Bafana, who are hoping to dine with the big boys in the global competition for the first time since 2010.

The Crocodiles have a chance as well to qualify, but they must defy the odds by beating the favourites and other pool members to make it.

Can Nigeria still qualify for World Cup 2026?

Yes, Nigeria can still reach the finals to be staged across the United States, Canada and Mexico. But there is plenty of work to do, and they will need some help from elsewhere.

The Super Eagles lie fourth in the six-team Group C on seven points, six points behind leaders South Africa and one behind Rwanda and Benin.

Nigeria have four games remaining, starting with a home game against Rwanda in September. Win that, and they will have the chance to be at least within three points of South Africa should they defeat Bafana Bafana on matchday eight.

However, should they fail to beat Rwanda and South Africa defeat Lesotho, Eric Chelle's team will be unable to finish top of the group if they do not win against the leaders. In that scenario, they would need to focus on finishing in second place in the standings and hope that is enough to earn passage to the inter-continental playoff round.

The winners of CAF's nine groups qualify automatically for the World Cup, with the four best runners-up entering the playoff route.

Don't forget

We have 4 games
And winning that 4 means 12 points
Plus 7 points now equal 19 points

And potentially SA will lose 3 point for fielding eneligible player
