People think we are crazy when we avoid government projects but you will always learn bitter lessons at the end of the day except you have the mind to run after first mobilization which a lot of contractors do to avoid these type of stories. Let's hear from the EFCC and Enugu state govt sha cool
I am still wondering why anyone would avoid government contract if contractors are allowed to draw a standard legal agreement for such deals. Once there’s clear duties and obligations and both parties execute the document. Why the fear again.

Maybe there may be other things I don’t know. But that’s my personal view.

The Sujimoto case - with the way he keeps mentioning governor here and there in his accounts it appears it was a mere parole contract or he had no written agreement at all. Looks all complicated and confusing to any reasonable man.

Because by government standard everything is paper documents and agreements.
There’s something the Sujimoto guy is hiding. I sense it’s a clear case of runs. This is not their first deal.

EFCC chasing an individual owner in a contract that was entered into by a company without reasonable suspicion of fraud by the alter ego of the company is an illegal move.

So, wondering why Sujimoto is jittery perhaps he knows he’s complicit. May God save us from all sharks in the corridors of power sucking dry the glory of the unborn generation of this country.

If this is all a disagreement over contract terms and conditions and if it is not the case of the contractor collecting money and not performing, then EFCC should stay out of it. Contractual disagreement should first go to arbitration as always provided in such contracts and if that fails, the aggrieved party should go to court instead of using state powers to intimidate the other party.
Sense!

This is exactly my story.
Sincerely to do contract in Nigeria you have to be determined, and be sure you tidy up all unforseen economic dynamics else "you go chop kain"
From then, if any client that tells me to just help manage the cost of the project, I just pack my baggage and leave. They would come back to tell you when you know you can't do it for that amount why did you take the contract? You end up having BP; mine I'm still battling with.
You can't go and be begging supplies because you want to satisfy a client.
I still couldn't balance till date because of that singular this is about 7 years running.

And Spyder880 is from Enugu state, living in Enugu and not called to build even one school? grin

I have built so many structures in this country that the government should have contacted me and seen how I deliver over 10 new buildings in a year, and still have zero case with anyone in Nigeria.
God bless your Hustle...

Oga, man up! Stop whipping sentiment like a street thief confessing like a witch. You failed to deliver on your contractual terms. Answer the questions and prove your innocence. God help you!

Read between the lines.

He admitted on the video that from DAY ONE, the cost the government wanted him to build the schools at did not make sense, and the government apparently accepted this.

Which suggests even if not for inflation, he would have definitely had to cut corners to deliver.

What you people don't know is that this is standard practice for a lot of government projects and that is why a lot of them don't last or contractors abandon the projects halfway (if it even gets to halfway).

Most government officials don't go after a lot of these contractors because they've already collected their own part even before the project begins.

I was not there when he did his project (so I can't say if his own followed the exact same tune), but this is no news nor a major earth shattering discovery, everyone in their circle knows these things.
Why I just want to give Sujimoto the benefit of the doubt is that I doubt he would like to be linked to a substandard project.

He might have felt he could have finished a standard project at just breakeven point or just below. It won't be to his immaculate standards but good enough quality. He would be very stupid to be identified with a substandard project that could damage his posh brand.

He will learn a hard lesson. If Sujimoto is smart, he could also make the governor look very bad. As you put it, he seemed to have taken advantage of Suji's naivety.

I have learnt a lesson in life: keep away from things you know little about.

He should have stuck to the private sector. He should steer clear of anything government.

I think Suji was simply taken advantage of. He s

Story

Just return the Enugu state money immediately
If prices went up, why can't you go to the governor and ask for variation like every other contractors do?
There must have been a lot of complications in the contract and complex situation to read in between the lines with regards to this case that's not yet open to the public. Let's wait and see as other data & info are revealed. Fingers crossed!

Sujimoto has come out to make claims to the effect that Gov. Mbah may not be different after all. Enugu state government too should come to tell us how many more projects Sujimoto has agreed to sacrifice standard and quality for cost. Let the revelation continue in the interest of Nigerians.

So this guy is reason why the Enugu Smart Schools in every ward has not materialized as Peter Mbah envisioned it?

This is not tribalism but I blame Mbah. There are Igbo contractors who would have delivered that project without all this kind of drama that is happening now.

An Igbo contractor would have been passionate about the project and delivered it in the spirit of “Nkea-bu-nke-anyi”.

I hope he learns from this.
If your position of nkea bu nkanyi is true, SE would have been like Dubai.

OUK used slok, his own company to build roads in Aba that didn't last a decade.

Thats a common scamming format
If someone first sells you a big project but then suddenly says you should undertake a significantly smaller project at a discount. You better run
They will even ask you to fund the smaller project yourselves sometimes
