Good evening house. Please I have a quick question. So my aunt has an interview for Tuesday 9/9. We scheduled this appointment in February. We were going through her documents today and discovered that the DS 160 needs to be filled within six months of interview . We tried to update the DS 160 but they said since it’s within three business days before the interview, we cannot update it. Can she go for the interview with the old DS 160 that with her appointment letter or should we wait for the appointment will pass and reschedule. Has anybody been in this situation. Thank you.

If your boss wish for you to visit the USA of course yes, it is very very possible.

The only thing is that if you are visiting the USA for fun or for sight seeing of how the USA people and cities looks like then you will be applying for tourist visa (B2) .

(2). You also need to reserve (book hotel) accommodation in America where you will be staying during your tour. (3). Another important aspect is to display to the consular your proof of fund or availability of money to spend during your visit , and finally you have to proof to the consular that you will return to Nigeria as soon as you are done with your tour of America.

It is not an impossible task. It is easy and your first step right now is to fill DS-160 elcetronic visa application online and pay the visa fee. Go back and start studying this thread from page 1. You will get further clues. 👍🏽

If you have scheduled her appointment this year (February, 2025) then there is no need for you to update her DS-160. The rule of DS-160 is firm and intact but at the same time it is a reminder formality if your visa appointment is still within the same year .

However, if your sister's information (home address , email, phone number , etc ) has changed within the period or she was black in completion before but now white in completion as a result of medical reason or natural occurrence then she need to fill another DS-160 and use her current photo.

Either way round, she can fill another DS-160 right now as you are reading this and have it updated immediately. It is now a computer programed procedure. 👍🏽

Do not wait for the appointment to pass so you can reschedule o. Once that happens it is assumed, you have done your interview and you will need to start a fresh application to get a new date, you will also need to pay again.


What you need to do now is fill a new ds160 and take it to the interview alongside the old one. you can't update the ds16 on your appointment confirmaton once it is 3 working days to your appointment. So she should fill a new one and go to the interview with the old one. The old one is the one that should be brought out, but if anybody mentions the fact that it is more than 6 months old then she can bring out the new one

Your son is a human being and the rule is that he must attend the interview on his appointment day despite the fact that children under 14 yrs won't be interviewed.

You should have booked your appointment together or request for Emergency Appointment for him by attaching your own appointment letter so that they can open a date for him to catch up with yours.

Nevertheless, take him along on your interview as there might be prerogative of consideration for him as a sucking infant who might need intermittent breastfeeding. Go along with his documents. 👍

Apply for B1/B2 visa. This visa is also known as Business/Tourism visa.

B1 is the easiest to get. B1 is visiting majorly on business thus , you are adding some values to their economy.

B2 is visiting for pleasures, weddings, burial ceremony, graduation, medical which are all based on your personal interests.

Ironically, 90% of the time, both visa categories are still going to be combined (B1/B2) on your passport because they are related. 👍

Pls go with your baby and take his own documents with you , plus his passport. They will usually allow you to do his appointment with yours on the same day.

In the (DS -160) the question is do you have any relatives in U.S, when I applied in the year 2014 I answer (yes).

But During the Covid - 19 we lost ur relative in the U.S he died as a result of COVID, now we don't have any relatives in the U.S,

I saw your other post in Canada thread regarding the use of agents and you also made this same query last year. I am guessing you have not gotten the right answer .

I think the purpose of this particular thread is to make the visa application open and easier for anyone to understand and i can bet it that there are many agents who learn from this same forum themselves.

If you have the time and not really engage by too many activities then of course you don't need anyone to apply for B1/B2 visa, all you need to do right now is go and start studying this same forum from page 1 and keep a pen and a jotter. I am certain by the time you get to page 50 you would have grasp lot of procedures.

If However you are a busy type with too many distracting activities then you can engage the service of a reputable agent. It is then up to your task to be certain that the agent knows the job very well, and that he or she is an honest person. 👍

It was 77 days we were given and no document was checked except ds-160 form and passport

Please I'm currently faced with this situation. I intend to travel with my 2 kids age 4 & 7 but we couldn't secure the same dates as my own interview is scheduled to come before theirs. Can I proceed to initiate emergency request for my 2 kids and what are the chances that the emergency request will be approved. My interview is in 2 weeks.
I will appreciate input from everyone.

Pls I need some advise , recently I was given a 221(g) form for my H1b interview. The consular discovered that the petitioner on her system is different from what is in i797b approval. Then she noted some documents I need to come with on my 221g form to summit at the OIS service centre where my original transcript is part of the documents. Though I HV all these documents she asked me to bring. My questions now are:
(1) Will these documents be returned BK to me most especially my original transcript?
(2) Why was it that the petitioner's name appearing on the cansular system or at the embassy is different from what I HV in i797b approval notice? All the correspondences I HV been receiving from USCIS bring out my correct petitioner's name.

Well, you are still going to represent both kids as they are not going to be personally interviewed but unfortunately, the embassy will only want to see them on their appointment day.

I dont think any child who is not a sucking baby or infant who is absolutely dependent on you every munites of the day will be allowed to be interviewed with you.

1. You may try the ER if it will work out.
2. You may attend the interview together and take their documents along.

No one can predict the outcome as the US embassy is no more near predictable presently. 👍

There are many disadvantages following your query but let me summarise it.

A. Your present query is being put forward at the eleventh hour. Senior citizens (age 60 above) needs approximately 2 - months to retain or fully memorise new information in the form of a questionnaire off hand, and that is even if they are constantly engaging themselves in the task. The exception here is if they are naturally gifted or if they are an educationists.

B. Your present query contain zero information . If I were you , I would ask the question thus :

I am a PR or I am a US citizen and being living in the States since 2020. My parents have not traveled out before or they visited Sweden last December. I would be ordain as a pastor this December and i want them to visit. Or I want both parents to come and meet my wife's family .

👆 If your query is not liken to the above you cant get reasonable answer.

Ask your question.
Cost is about 150 to 180 usd.
You’ll get 5 years if approved.
You need to fill a form and after the form, book an appointment to be physically interviewed.
Note that dates for interviews are a couple of months away from the date you fill the visa form so put that in mind to plan your travel.
Interview locations are London,Manchester and Edinburgh in the UK.
You don’t need to actually book the hotel, you need a travel destination/city, address and phone number of where you would be staying throughout your trip and then fill your DS 160 form very accurately as this carries the weight of the visa decision.

Hello .

No. It's not possible. Gone are the days when you could attend your visa interview without a photo attachment in your DS-160 printout.

Go to a cyber cafe and seek for help. They will do it with a token. You obviously cannot do it yourself. 👍
