I can't seem to recollect anyone comparing the population of Oyo state to the SE.

The argument is always about the land area and physical development.

The argument has been made that because SE East is smaller, projects look bigger there..compare to say Oyo state..all the projects that Alex Oti is being celebrated for will look like a local govt project in Oyo state..

That is what we mean when say you can put all of SE into oyo state.

1. What's the population of Oyo and what's the population of the SE as at 2025? Oyo is less than 1/3rd the population of the SE.
2. What number of houses do we have in Oyo and the SE?
3. What's the GDP of Oyo compared to the SE? Imo state alone is twice that of Oyo. Anambra's own is still significantly above that of Oyo.
4. What are the number of educational institutions and academic performance of Oyo compared to the SE?
As you can see, there's no single basis for such comparison beyond stupidity. Next time, you can compare state to state or region by region. That way, it looks more matured.

The SE is about 30,255Sq.km whereas Oyo state is 28,454sq.km. Why do you guys love to lie like this? If you must do your bigoted comparison, at least try to present facts not lies.

I laughed in 3D! First, you agreed Oyo is of the same size as the five south east; you never raised argument or raise data to counter it. Good of you for accepting that fact.

Now, your major problem is now on conflict of thought, you compared yourself with small size Lagos, but you all five states put together never have riches of Lagos or close to it. Oyo is not directly or indirectly feeding small Lagos, but Oyo is indirectly feeding your entire five states in term of remittance from her own excess profits to balance your own deficits. You don't even need to drag abroad to this, not to expose your weaknesses; it is not by size, yes; we agree only for the small states that are richer than the big one in question.

You better go and check the population census of Oyo state in case you forgot, Oyo is always number 3 in term of population before Kaduna. Oyo is not responsible for ipob/ESN that drive people away from Alaigbo for your low population, hope you know?

States in Nigeria are not based on size of land, they are based on population. The population of Oyo State is just about the same as that of Anambra. Numbers are more important than size of land

Lagos is the smallest state in Nigeria in terms of land size, but it is the most populated and richest State in Nigeria. Can you imagine someone saying that Lagos is not important because it is small? Isn't that laughable?

Why is it that with all this land the south West has, they never managed to develop anywhere without capital city status? Lagos was capital of Nigeria for 80 years, Ibadan was capital of the Western Region before independence. But in the South-East, places like Aba, Onitsha and Nnewi were never capital of anywhere

Can you stop shifting ground and stick to a solid argument? You're the one rambling here. You came to compare Oyo state to a whole region and when you were trashed, you returned to IGR. If I may ask, are you still comparing the IGR of Oyo to the SE or to the individual states of the region? I guess you've learnt what perspective to follow in your argument. IGR is very easy to increase if your GDP is high but not vice versa. This means those SE states with high GDP are covered to survive on their own to your disappointment.
Now talking about size, why aren't the smaller SW states showing any serious development due to their size just as you point to SE states? Your problem remains tribalism.
