Holyfic:Even the guy above you is using Igbo language rather than bini. I'm curious did Igbo colonise ikwerre people? |

Ikwerre are pure Igbos as far as I am concerned. They are even more igbo than Ebonyi |

Holyfic:Benin may be tiny, but many tribes migrated from there. I don't know about the Ikwerres, but I learnt that the earliest Onitsha people migrated from Bini too. That's why Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe wears Benin regalia during the Ofala Festival. |

Darren95:How these people carefully added W to there igbo names needs to be studied. Something really happened along the line why they decided to separate from igbos. Even if Biafra come alive today, they will ask for separation. I Just wish we will have more countries in Nigeria... Like ikwere, ijaw, igbos, urobo etc That's how Europe developed and evolved. River state alone is even bigger than Croatia. |

God bless them and their land. The use of ada speaks volumes in their efforts to identify with my people - Bini. However, my research and interactions with elders here in Edo does not support their claim of being Bini descendants. That of Onitsha people is verifiable in our history. Ikwerre? Hell no. Anyway, there may be an iota of fact in their claim that no one is aware of. God bless Bini kingdom. |

Holyfic:The Ikwerres are one of the confused set of ethnic groups in Nigeria. They bear Igbo names, speak an Igbo dialect, celebrate Igbo festivals...yet they claim their ancestry is from the bini kingdom. How delusional can that be? ![]() |

Darren95:Why is that guy putting on Benin attire? Or are their culture related to Benin? I know say Benin Kingdom touches everywhere around south south east even some Western states historically, but most of our young people won’t accept the fact |

thatigboman:I don't know when that signage was made or what prompted that. Maybe it used to be part of Ikwerre, but administratively Elele Alimini is in Emuoha. Even the Ogbakiri in question is in Emuoha close to Kalabari.

[No one from here really cares, we are only interested in unraveling the mystery that links their names, and cultures to that of the great igbo tribe. Imagine the king's name, Woyike which simply means Nwaoyike. The Benin elders says there is no link between Benin and ikwerre people. So where do they come from?? This is when I miss Nnamdi Kalu the most.quote author=Hisroyalbadmeat post=136706974] Some of you know little or nothing about Ikwerre people, it's their language for God's sake, wetin concern una sef,una Cho Cho Cho, no dey even bother Ikwerre people[/quote] |

jojo1415:Wike speaks pure Igbo in his house, I can assure you. He is only deceiving Bulaburudeens. During one of his interviews on Channels TV, while trying to convince Seun on an argument he said 'Chere' which means 'Wait' in Igbo,he suddenly caught himself and then continued with 'Wait.. wait...wait'. ![]() Only people with sharp ears like us heard it. ![]() The guy is playing politics with his ethnicity and language, so that he can be in the good books of the APC gbamurudeens, many of whom are rabidly anti-Ibo.. ![]() |

Darren95:Just imagine how the changed "ONYENWEALI" by casting the "O" and "N" away. All in an attempt to jettison their core Igbo origins. There Igbo ancestors must have been really pissed off. Very funny ![]() |
