Suji himself mentioned that he was completely aware the funds won't be enough to achieve it purpose but he went ahead to agree and started the job...which is against his standards as attested by him

5.7 billion paid upfront to build 22 schools without equipment seems okay.

Sujimoto obviously was in financial mess before the contract was awarded and just diverted the money to his troubled projects in Lagos thinking government slow and corrupt bureaucracy will work in his favour.
He is also well connected even to Aso rock hence the stalling, nonchalant attitude towards the state government.
Apparently, Peter Mbah na no nonsense man who takes no prisoners.

The crap Sujimoto was saying about price of building materials changing is absolute nonsense. He took the contract, got mobilized with 50% of the payment and he's telling 'stories that touch' with nothing to show for the money he received.
My guy, go and cool off in jail till you refund the money.

He lacks integrity and can’t be trusted. He accepted that job with an intention to cheat and defraud the government. He knew what he was doing right from the very start.

When I watched Suji's video, I said to myself, this guy is making a big fool of himself!

1. You as a supposed experienced contractor should know better than to blame inflation for failure to deliver on a duly signed and sealed contract

2. When the courts or law enforcement is involved, a smart and enlightened person knows that the best way around it is to get a smart lawyer and tackle the case headlong. The media has never helped rich con-men, Never! Except for helping them get messed up further.

So, it's not much about people rejoicing about his problems but more of him pulling himself under with an unprecedented poor crisis management skills.
