Former Governor of Sokoto State and Senator representing Sokoto South, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has expressed strong support for President Bola Tinubu’s push for the establishment of state police, stressing that it is a necessary step to address the worsening insecurity in the country.

Speaking on Friday night during Channels Television’s Politics Today, monitored in Abuja, Tambuwal painted a grim picture of the security situation in Sokoto State, particularly in his senatorial district.

On the debate around state police, the lawmaker dismissed concerns about possible misuse, insisting that Nigeria’s peculiar challenges demand such an institution.

It’s a national consensus at this point.

That’s why all their desperate attempts to guilt-trip Nigerians with “let the South finish eight years” or “it’s south turn” are dead on arrival. Even they know it won’t fly.

And Tinubu, of all people, has zero moral ground to preach “southern turn.” This is the same man who teamed up with his fellow désperados, power grabbing buccaneers to sabotage Goodluck Jonathan a fellow southerner and cut short the South’s chance at an uninterrupted eight years in power. You can’t destroy a bridge and then complain you can’t cross it.

Nature, karma, and the consequences of failed leadership have all aligned Tinubu will be a one-term president.

He’s earned it. It's his own making.

No president in our history has inflicted this level of hunger, suffering, confusion, and deceit on the people all in the name of bogus “economic reforms.” It’s been propaganda in place of policy, and poverty in place of progress.

History will remember. Nigerians already do.
