Thank you for your position. Please be aware that Nigeria's geopolitical structure and ethnic configuration are encoded in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended, and cannot be unilaterally changed or tinkered with by any President, no matter how powerful.

In fact, the Federal Military Government created Nigerian states precisely to prevent what you are describing here.

States were created to give various ethnic nationalities a safe space within which to project their culture without domination from the majority ethnic nationalities.

In his speech declaring a twelve-state structure for Nigeria, the then Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, gave the following rationale for creating states:

"This is why the item in the political and administrative programme adopted by the Supreme Military Council last month is the creation of states as a basis for stability. This must be done first so as to remove the fear of domination."

This "fear of domination" will never materialise in Nigeria, even if Peter Obi becomes President.
