This is brazen fabrication. Lies from pit of hell. When was the last time census held in Nigeria. That is the basis to determine the level of income among citizens of states. Not from crooked conjucture from biased and unreliable source

What's bayelsa doing up there in the top 2 despite all their oil and gas wealth?
It's so because only less than 10 men Carter share the wealth that come to the state leaving 99.9% of Bayelsans in abject poverty.

The funny now is that if Ogun State governor ask you to leave their poorest state and go back to your richest state you will be everywhere crying.

LagosOrigin:
Ogun state with IGR of the whole south east combined is even poorer more than smallest Imo state

Shame onsg

The statistics shows d north is more poverty striken.
How comes bayelsa with only 9LGAs & most bayelsan are on government payrolls with enormous oil resources & 13% derivation are still poor?how can Benue be poorer than kogi which has less arable land.
Re: Multi-dimensional Poverty Across States (see Full List) by beyondPen(m):
Most Ondo State households are farmers so the least poverty rate.

They do cash crops and food crops.

For every 10 persons in Bayelsa, 8-9 persons are poor. We are talking of a state with just 9 local govts whose monthly allocation is far bigger than that of Kano with 44 local governments

Even the food basket of the nation is sitting at number 12 with 75% (Distinction ) score.

This is not looking good at all. Nigeria has multi dimension poverty across the country.

HeadNigga:
What is Bayelsa doing in the second position of poorest? This is a case of a state that depicts what Nigeria is; a country blessed with enormous resources yet full of poor people.
That analysis is so very incorrect and not reflective of current realities.....I have seen some one with 10m cash in a village before right under his bed.....I was shocked,he paid cash for a car of 3.6m at the time right there at his house sagbama precisely and there was no sign of hopeless poverty in that place.

Hmm it's everywhere no need for statistics some people in the north are even seeing cheaper foods and most of them are farmers if not for bandits kidnapping and bad roads trust me majority of the citizens can cope well it's just the above and some other things that's contributed to hunger and poverty in some states.
What is the intent of this you just said? To downplay the report or what? Or that everything is fine?

Why una push this outdated info to frontpage?

Considering that Tinubu has devalued naira and reduced purchasing power, that of 2025 should be worse.
Ten times worse for sure.

Tinibu and his men are just not fit for the job

Coming into an economy that's been driven by an unregulated informal sector, it was a disaster waiting when all his policies were to snuff out life from SMEs but his fans said he's a master strategist

Nigeria has never had it this bad, there's no relief for the ordinary man, even the workers take-home no dey carry dem reach bus stop again

Again, in 2027, we go still vote along tribal line so no need to dey disturb ourselves

If we will leave politics, sentiments, ethnicitism, religion out of it. We as Nigerians who elected the leaders into the affairs of the Nation starting from LG Chairmen, State Governors and the President. We will charge them to make proper used of the Nation natural resources, tax payers money and loan appropriately. However, the lawmakers are not left out. When are we going to stop praising this people whenever they commission any infrastructural facilities with the Nation natural resources and tax payers money.

We never call our LG Chairmen and State Governors to order who are our major intermediary between us and the president. We kept blaming the president for the misuse and management of the resources for states and Nation.

Every States have peculiar Natural resources that generate huge funds which can be used for better Agricultures, build manufacturing industries, better institutions facilities such as hospitals. Their lack of incentive programme for their respective states make individual heads of different government organisations to abuse the position they held and corrupt it more.

In summary, it is not FG they listed but different states of the Nation.

God bless Nigerians
God bless FRN

This is is the real indicator of development and good governance . Can you imagine a state where 9 in every 10 persons are multidimensionally poor. Yet the government removed subsidies and ready to impose fuel tax.
Note, the stats are based on multi-dimensional poverty indices, a direct income poverty assessment will indicate that 99.99 people in sokoto state are living below poverty line.
My question to the social scientists in this forum especially the economist and the development sociologists: is subsidy removal a good (appropriate) policy for a country with this level of poverty?

Bayelsa,Akwa Ibom,Crossriver, Plateau,Benue this states have no excuse to have such high poverty dimensional rate.

Bayelsa gets almost a Trillion yearly same as Akwa Ibom but nothing can be found in such states.

Just look at Bayelsa, Akwaibom, Cross River and Rivers. Those states should be at the bottom.

same thing I was about to ask. Just like Akwaibom too, I think it's complacency Because it's an oil producing state the citizens sit back expecting kickbacks and freebies from their government hence, becoming idle and blame the government for their predicament.
