As far as I'm aware, public primary education in Nigeria is free. anonimi:That's the major problem across the country. We have insufficient public schools, yet our governors are doing little or nothing to address this problem. Personally I think every street in Nigeria should have at least one public primary school. |

Honestly it no longer funny. This are getting tougher and harder daily. Honestly, these parents aren’t asking for too much. Mrs. Adeyemi’s point is simple—why should families be forced to buy new uniforms when the old ones are still perfectly fine? It only adds unnecessary pressure to parents already battling rising costs. And Ismail’s frustration is very valid. Spending nearly ₦2 million per term just to give his children decent education is not sustainable for most households. Education should not feel like a luxury that only the wealthy can afford. If public schools were properly funded and given back their lost glory, many families wouldn’t need to overstretch themselves or even compromise their values just to pay fees. It’s true—if government officials themselves enrolled their children in public schools, there would be more accountability. After all, no parent wants to see their own child struggling in substandard conditions. Education is a right, not a privilege, and the government has the responsibility to make sure quality learning is accessible to every Nigerian child. |

Schooling is a program to keep the Poor poorer and the Middle Class "middle". Never designed to make rich! Self education in financial literacy is key to prosperity... |

My kids school doubled (100%) the fees last January. They doubled it once again this September. That's 300% increase in less than a year. Only admins can comment on Whatsapp groups now, parents are muted and the PTA chairman is overwhelmed. Proprietor said the teachers are being poached to other schools because their take home salary cannot take them home anymore. Absolutely appalling. |

IPDGP:This is where we dey get an wrong as a nation Always trying to be mediocre once our choice has failed us One of my neighbors was complaining bitterly today that her son won't resume to his low budget school 😀, just because most of the teachers are street boys who don't even know the basics of teaching, but just do that as a side hustle Our education is in a big mess as its stands, getting quality education is too expensive for an average Nigerian And that's where government should come in, too many mushrooms schools damaging children's prospects everywhere Government needs to act, we can't kid pacifying them every now and then |
