I have lived in Lagos for the past 5 years, and in my current apartment for the past 3. I live very close to 3MB, so not in the outskirts, and barely see 12 hours of electricity, despite using a prepaid meter and not estimated billing.

I understand that save for one or 2 comments above, all the others are paid hacks designed to push a narrative that does not exist. Electricity has WORSENED over the past 3 years, not improved.

Also, I travelled to Anambra for the 3rd time this year, and no, electricity hasn’t improved AT ALL!

Biggest LIE

Before Tinubu came to power in 2023. We enjoy over 17 hours of light in my area in Kaduna. But today, we barely have 4 hours a day. Some times for days we won't have light. This is the same thing that is witnessed in other parts of Kaduna.

Our first power plant was Kainji Dam commissioned in 1964 by Prime Minister Tafawa Balewa.

Prior to that, the British simply imported industrial generators to light up Ikoyi and GRAs where their colonial officials were staying. The rest of Nigeria was in darkness.

So thank your lucky stars for Independence in 1960.

Looool! I stay at Akoka AND work from home just so you know. They take the light by 7am, bring it for 1-2 hours around 10am, then bring it back by 8:30-9pm. Unlike you, I am not interested in pushing propaganda because the light situation directly affects my livelihood. I had to spend 1.1m last year October to set up a small inverter unit because of the rubbish electricity we have.

When I moved into my current apartment 3 years ago, there was at least 18 hours of electricity everyday, with most times, between 20-22 hours which was one of the reasons that informed my decision to choose the area and apartment.

Every single time a new power plant was commissioned, its MW capacity has been posted online. For example, when Otto commissioned the Ana power plant, its capacity was published for the whole world to see. Nigeria currently does not even generate more than 5MW which is way less than the installed capacity, and even if it were to generate and distribute at 100% capacity, we still would not have stable electricity.

These evil men promoting lies are a sign that the government is planning another tax that will be stolen on the citizens because that is the only thing they know.
