A professor in my department went to the senate building to fast track the whole thing, then FUTA sent my transcripts digitally to WES.

XYZo:
How did you do it eventually

So, I landed in Ottawa, Ontario on 1st July and I didn't bring a travel adapter (120v to 220v converter), it skipped my mind that I should have bought it before leaving Nigeria where it is cheaper. Make sure you buy a travel adapter, the electric socket in Canda is different from that of Nigeria.

A big thanks to Etrange, Aurorae and all the other helpful contributors to the thread when I was learning French, I am forever grateful.

Hello everyone. Has anyone taken a certificate course at the French village? Is it worth trying. I have been learning French online with a native from Cameroon and I have been finding it difficult to speak. So, Im considering taking a 3months course at the French village. What would you all advise. Anyone taken any course aswell in Cotonou? Please don’t air me. Thank you.

Get a French speaker and drill majorly on the speaking test (l'expression orale du TEF/TCF). That's what I did... going to French village is broadly focused, you need to be narrowly focused. Look for someone who speaks French and show him/her past and sample questions in addition to Youtube videos on the speaking test of TEF/TCF... and practice, practice and practice.

My journey is different because I practically learnt French on my own (for the speaking practice, I had 3 practice partners), so I took longer than normal and there were several months, when I wasn't learning French at all. I downloaded the Duolingo App on 1st October 2019, I took my 1st TEF exam on 30th October 2022 (I didn't make the speaking test, but I passed the other three tests) and took the 2nd TEF exam on 6th July 2023 (3 C1 and a B2+).

Please which shops were you able to get the french books in Lagos. Thank you

EDOCA:
Good morning All,

My experience learning French was that I improved quickly in two ways:

- one on one speaking, online with a native speaker, I was referred through Alliance Francais. If you have the funds for that they are usually reasonable and you will make rapid improvement. Two hours a week for 6 months and you will feel close to fluent, helps your confidence a lot.

- reading French books. Often overlooked by learners, there are second hand books stores in Lagos for sure that I know that have French books, start simple and work up. Good thing about reading is that you can have the dictionary by your side and many French words are similar to English.

Hope that helps someone.

Congratulations. What package were you on? This is the first I'm hearing a great review about a school other than AF
Mildred25:
I recommend SFF to anyone actively trying to sit for the TCF or Tef, search for them on Instagram and get their packages. I studied with them from scratch for 1 year and I just aced my TCF with C2's . Honestly if you follow their strategy rigorously you would see results. I suggest the one on one sessions if you're interested.
