The average uyo person battles unemployment. Any smarty akwa ibomite will chose a brewery that employs like champion does in aka road over the stadium that does not add any value to the unemployment ravaging uyo. Many business have folded in the state. Rent is sky high and all the average person prays for is the sea port to work. So leave Peter obi. One brewery that puts food on the table of 1000s will always be better than a stadium. That is used for apc decamping and 2 matches in a year with no benefit to the average akwa ibomite

Good investment but let me tell you that the only reason it's been maintain is because that's the only one we have for now...I can bet you that if another new stadium is built, the football federation will abandoned it as they did Abuja and also Lagos....we have good stadiums in Nigeria that can meet FIFA standard but we lack serious maintenance culture in this country

It's not the duty of a governor to build stadium for national purpose. It's infact an indictment on the previous and current governments of the nation who failed to maintain the national stadia. That amount would have done more for the people of his state.

If you must spend such amount for a project, it has to be a project that will attract spenders from other parts of the country and the world at large.

Our league is just too poor. The government will have to give nearly full autonomy to the clubs and attract private investors. Clubs are supposed to have their private stadia which they develop from a few stands to a monument as the proceeds trickle in. State governments have no business building a stadium

Can you please share details of how much he also invested in employing teachers and other staff for the free education of all Akwa Ibom children in schools with adequate classrooms, libraries, labs, playgrounds etc?

The Lagos State government has said the ratio of public to private schools at both primary and secondary school levels in the state is one to 22.

The state’s Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, gave the revelation in her remark at the 2022 edition of the Total School Support Seminar Exhibition (TOSSE) held at Oregun in Ikeja between Thursday and Friday.
