*THE PURE WORD*

Becoming one flesh (sharing sexual pleasures) with someone you aren't married to is very deadly and dangerous. In extramarital or premarital sex, the partners become “one flesh” under God’s curse.

So, you should know that there's nothing like “casual sex.” Every sexual relationship at least begins a one-flesh bond. The bond will either be something beautiful (when it's within the marriage institution) or it will be something distorted (when done outside marriage).

Now, even when sexual pleasures are shared inside the marriage union, to genuinely bond, the right conditions must be put in place, such as committed love, commitment to the marriage, and a pursuit of true intimacy. It is important to know that just because sex is taking place in a marriage doesn’t necessarily mean it is truly fulfilling God’s purpose of bonding together a one-flesh relationship.

Finally, the verse said "they become one flesh". Let's place a brief emphasis on "become". It means, whilst the first sexual pleasures shared in marriage (maybe on the wedding night) can ensure that an initial bond in a one-flesh union is formed, we must know that the fullness of what God wants to do in the one flesh relationship takes time. It has to "become" overtime as they keep at it.
