The ranking highlights destinations that balance adventure with relaxation—factoring in everything from wellness escapes and city-hopping potential to opportunities for slow, low-intensity travel.

Zimbabwe is at the top of the list of the world’s best countries to visit in 2025. The country is a land of wild beauty and rich history. Think rocky granite outcrops rising above golden plains, acacia trees swaying under endless skies, and ancient ruins that whisper stories of the past Over at Victoria Falls, the mighty Zambezi crashes down so hard it throws up mist that often catches the sun in fleeting rainbows.. And if you’re after something calmer, the Eastern Highlands bring misty mountains, winding trails, and a kind of peace you didn’t know you needed. Zimbabwe’s cities are drawing fresh interest: flight searches to Bulawayo have jumped more than 80% on Kayak, while Harare has seen a 56% rise for summer travel this year.

Morocco comes in 6th on the list, making it the second African country to feature. The country offers a blend of desert magic, mountain drama, and vibrant city life. Out in the Sahara, you’ve got endless red dunes under silent skies. Earlier this year, Morocco emerged as Africa's most visited destination, attracting 17.4 million visitors in 2024, according to its Ministry of Tourism. Marrakech stands out as one of the best-value long-haul destinations with flight prices down 5% compared to summer last year on Kayak

I know of Morocco because it have Marrakesh but then Zimbabwe? That's strange

It will be quite shameful if Zimbabwe bounce back from their economic woes and we, as a country, are still struggling to find our fit.

It would be unfortunate if Zimbabwe, despite its political challenges, becomes a top travel destination while Nigeria the socalled Giant of Africa continues to struggle and grapple with bad government and insecurity.

This is not about poverty or the stupidity of the inhabitants but the beauty of the country. And Zim is truly a beautiful country with striking and not-so easy to forget landscapes,diverse wildlife and large lakes etc. And the infrastructure ain't that bad either considering the economic challenges of that country

I can attest for Morocco, because I have been there a couple of times, I don't know of Zimbabwe tho, another country you should add on the list is Ghana.....

While our country president dey on global tourism with tax payers money while his country isn't condusive for tourism due to insecurity.

Morocco is definitely a country to visit.
Agadir, Casablanca and Marrakech are fantastic places to visit in Morocco. I had a wonderful time there.

See countries that r doing well....Nigeria has been forming giant o Africa,only for it to be oppressing and extorting it's citizens with yeye taxes and borrowing with nothing to show for it....States r paying bandits to stop killing it's citizens can u imagine that nonsense....only in Nigeria leaders r happy seeing their citizens suffering....it so disheartening.i feel lik crying 😢 for the past two weeks I never sell market because of hardship,customers don't have money to buy goods again 😢

Was in Marrakech earlier this year. Morocco is far from perfect but they don't joke with their tourism industry.
