As it has been mandatory by 2026 that you won’t be able to perform any banking transactions without having your Tax ID/TIN, here’s how you can generate it online with no hassle and at no cost.

I just did mine now and was given a certificate of registration confirmation from the Joint Tax board (JTB).

- visit the Joint Tax Board (JTB) registration portal at www.https://jtb.gov.ng/apply-for-tin/

- Locate the “Register for TIN” tab and choose if you’re generating for Individual (Yourself) of Non-individual (Business/Co-operates) etc.

- Enter your BVN, NIN, Date of Birth and other required info to generate your TIN.

- A confirmation letter with a certificate will be sent to your provided email.

That’s all, it’s easy-peasy!
