The government is actually trying, though some roads are built without drainage system in mind, which is wrong on the part of the government. Also, poor maintenance culture on the government side again.

Several roads with drainage systems end up with blocked drainage by residents who indiscriminately dump refuse in them. That's a fault on the people's side.

That flood is the result of inflow of water from other sources like open drains and water from connecting streets.

LAGOS prime locations will submerge in less than 40yrs.

What contigency , the roads are tiled and the drainages are free ... i follow that route well enough

So what contingencies plan, build a skyscrapper over the overhead bridge as alternative route or bulldoze all the companies along the road to serve as water tank

Absolutely nothing!
Lagos is only 2 meters above the sea level and ocean current is increasing everyday. The presence of the lagoon in Lagos state is another disadvantage while land reclamation activities for real estate developments are recipes for continuous flooding and great chances for disasters..

Another problem is, Lagos is a chocked city which cannot accommodate massive infrastructural re-engineering. Every odd is against the current situation of Lagos state, except both the government and the citizens are ready for massive demolition.
