eNaira was never a digital currency. It is just a mobile wallet in naira. It was intended to be used to control currency circulation without any benefits or interest to customers but the likes of opay and palmpay shattered that wicked plan by providing benefits to users. It has no digital footprint or backed by any physical commodity.
The government should have made it a digital currency backed by commodity that appreciates in value. But unfortunately, government has no produce and therefore no commodity to back up the digital currency.
