Again, National Grid Collapses by etokhana(op): 1:35pm On Sep 10, 2025
The megawatt (MW) generated dropped from 2,917.83 (MW) to 1.5 (MW) between 11 am and 12 pm on Wednesday.

Shortly after the collapse, the Nigeria National Grid, an X handle that provides updates on Electric power distribution announced that “System restoration is in progress.”

In another tweet, the X account stated that the Disco loads of all power distribution companies across the country aside Ibadan DisCo have come down to zero megawatt.

"Disco load” is the amount of power (in megawatts, MW) allocated from the national grid to each Electricity Distribution Company (DisCo).

At the time of filing this report, DisCos have not provided any updates about the grid collapse.

An AI development and hosting company effectively utilizes between 1,000 MW and 10,000 MW (1 to 10 GW) to support its operations. This energy requirement enables them to deliver high-performance services and drive innovation in the field. How will Nigeria or Africa compete with 6000 Mwatts?

A time will come that nobody will send any greedy grid again.

Re: Again, National Grid Collapses by Enddy50ty(m): 1:53pm On Sep 10, 2025
Na National greed dey make National grid collapse every now and then. I don't see anything wrong with decentralising power generation, let government allow any region or state that can produce its own power do so.

In 2025 a country of almost 300 million people can only boast of 2,917.83 megawatts while other countries are talking about terrawatts.

A very clueless country with clueless leaders.
Ethiopia with 135million people has just commissioned the largest hydro-electric dam in Africa that can single-handedly generate more than 5,000MW of electricity, enough to power all of Nigeria.
They started this project in 2011, and have now completed it in less than 15 years while the boastful, but clueless Nigeria with over 200m people has not achieved anything meaningful in power generation for the last 30 years and more!

How did you reach conclusion?

Are you aware about what’s going on in the power sector or you just jumped into conclusion?

Oh! Because he doesn’t announce or give updates on progress being made.

Hello, His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) works with the best hands and that you should know. The grid issue will be a thing of the past soon.
Re: Again, National Grid Collapses by Nobody: 2:00pm On Sep 10, 2025
Why is he always collapsing? I think the grid has some pulmonary 🫁 challenges. He's always slumping.

Can't they treat him in LUTH?
Re: Again, National Grid Collapses by SmartPolician: 2:01pm On Sep 10, 2025
It's a shame that Tinubu is borrowing money to invest in national grid infrastructure after signing a bill that allows private players and states run the business.

If not for President Paul Kigame, I'll conclude that the black Africans are too daft to lead a country!
