CRAB definitely is an acronym for something. Is it too much to write it in full for those who have no idea about it? Its sad that an opportunity to actually educate others was terribly missed. |

erad:The building is shaped like a crab, an aquatic creature very common in Rivers state. In fact if you go to Borokiri, it is very common to see crabs emerging from the ground in areas prone to flooding. |

CRAB simply means Crative Research for Arts and Books. Also, when you take a Bird's-Eye view of the old CRAB building, you'll see that the structure is shaped like a Crab. |

stagger:Then the picture should capture that because what we see here is no different from any lecture theatre we have out there and the "World class" should reflect there too! |
| Re: University Of Port Harcourt Celebrates World Class CRAB Center by 4lashy(m): 1:05pm On Sep 11, 2025 |
I see the misconception here. The picture of the interior shown above is the performing area called the Stage. It is a Thrust Stage, that's why the sitting arrangement is designed as such. The CRAB is not basically a lecture theatre/ hall but a "performing area" called a Theatre. Rebelutionary: |

Is this all? The CRAB used to be a sanctuary (pray it still is). Every evening inside Delta campus, you will see young Theatre art students rehearsing and practicing for their presentation which i witnessed severally during my years as an undergraduate student of UNIPORT. I don't see much done here except for the new chairs and changed sitting arrangement. |
| Re: University Of Port Harcourt Celebrates World Class CRAB Center by Maurindo(m): 1:47pm On Sep 11, 2025 |
4lashy:Does this mean that the structure has been altered not to take the shape of a crab too? If yes, then the CRAB has fallen |
