With a view to advancing socialization, relaxation, as well as boosting the economy, the Imo State Government had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CODUC Nigeria Limited and Heartland Holdings Limited to build Premium Waterfront Destination at Nworie and Otamiri River in Owerri.

The MOU to build this world class Premium Waterfront Destination facilities was signed on Friday at the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Hospitality, Owerri.

Speaking, Commissioner for Tourism, Culture and Hospitality, Barr. Jerry Egemba, explained that the Premium Waterfront Destination project will be executed through Public Private Partnership (PPP), involving the Imo State Government, CODUC Nig Ltd and Heartland Holdings Ltd.

Egemba said the project when achieved would creat jobs for Imolites especially, enhances socialization, pleasure, relaxation and attracts tourists to Owerri, thereby boosting the state’s economy for even development, saying the Governor, Hope Uzodimma, is development-oriented, peaceful and loving, hence his numerous human-driven projects scattered across the nooks and crannies of Imo State that are encouraging productivity and resourcefulness, as well as attract investors into the state.

“The project will be a Premium Waterfront Destination with a variety of leisure and entertainment facilities, including Water Leisure Amenities (water slides and rides). Amusement Parks: Boat Cruise Facilities, Events Centre, Family Entertainment Zones, Food Emporium, Shopping Mall, Resort Accommodation, other modern recreational facilities”, he stated.

He emphasized that the project is going to be executed in partnership and collaboration with Imo State Government (through the Ministry of Tourism), CODUC Nig Ltd (providing civil engineering and construction expertise) and Heartland Holdings Ltd (providing investment financing and management).

“Together, these parties will establish a Special Purpose Vehicle, named Heartland River Park Limited, to oversee, manage and execute the project”, Egemba said.

Hailing the Governor for the proposed project, Egemba said there are huge benefits attached to the project that would be advantageous to the state and citizens, affirming that the project will also revitalize tourism, provides jobs through construction, hospitality and tourism services, enhances community engagement and stakeholder involvement, provides modern leisure and family-friendly facilities, attracts local and international tourists.

That's very right. Imo State is so beautiful, very delicately beautiful. Modern houses spread all over some areas. The roads are also well paved except some few areas .....the glamorous part of the beauty are the ladies too. So many beautiful ladies in their different shades and sizes, curvy and shapely like Mama Water.....walking like Tolotolo queen up and down.....men, that Imo State na let me perish if I want to perish....that State should be called the Aso Rock Of Funcity.....all you need is to have good money and you automatically become the minister of Enjoyment for Imo State..... 😂 😂
