On Tuesday, September 9th, 2025, a notorious thief was finally caught while attempting to steal palm oil at Urua Anwa Market in Oruk Anam Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State.

The thief, who had been stealing from palm oil traders for a long time and felt unstoppable, was stripped and tied up by an angry crowd. He was nearly lynched before market leaders and local vigilantes intervened. They rescued him and handed him over to the authorities for further action.

People have pointed out that the way he was tied up is a little extreme. What do you guys think?

This is inhumane @ all, haba! Just because of Palm oil? Go and catch people stealing billions and do that to them not some one just hustling for what to eat.
