The kingmakers have swallowed part of the scam money 😂 how dem wan take dethrone the king. If the king makers head are correct is it not a shame to their kingdom that a king is in jail for fraud. |

Aribile - The ruling house that produced the Yahoo Oba, should simply reach a compromise with the Fagbomekun house to produce the next King and ban their son who is in jail from stepping foot on that land, even after he is released. There can be no two kings in the same kingdom, at a time. If they would not do that. Fagbomekun should then insist on producing the next King. The king cannot rule from US gulag. Never. You see why it is good to stay away from criminality? The greed of a yahoo Oba has put a whole community in turmoil. He is jail in a foreign land, now his subjects and community are in disarray. I pray that they don't start spilling blood to contest for the embattled crown.. A good Nollywood movie storyline is right here. |

Gustavowhite:Should this even be up For discussion? A jailed king should be replaced. Simple. The eldest kingmaker seems to be protecting the interest of the jailed king, even from the prison. That’s quite disgraceful. |

Listen everyone! It’s not about the criminality, it’s about the culture and practice of the land. There’s are ways to things like this. The king maker will not just make a decision of dethroning him even if people wants him dethroned. So far he’s not dead yet they need to follow the policies either by contacting the Gods etc. culturally the people would still support their king and see no bad in all he has done. A king is always a king still. Thanks |

He was also ordered to forfeit assets and pay over $4.4m in restitution, according to the report. If they accepted Tinubu, why are they rejecting Kabiesi for committing same CRIME ![]()

Gustavowhite:What message are they passing to the younger one ? That it is ok to be a criminal and a king? Well, it seems it is embedded in some culture. Talk about the builder of Lagos, the supreme leader , and now, this one. |

Didn't I said it that all the kingmaker in that kingdom, in Iwo, Ifo and Oyo should be ban and sack they have ridiculed their revered kingdom beyond repair for picking wrong people as king. I knew when the cardboard made crown got missing I knew its handwork of corrupt kingmakers and chiefs in that kingdom las las they showed their faces. |

A clause is attached to kingship in Yorubaland. If a king does not die, another will not be enthroned. It is a dicey situation though because of how this has happened but they can go ahead with removal of the king if they're sure it won't have any repercussion on the community, else the next in line to the king in the hierarchy of power acts as king till re returns from prison |

said, “During the meeting, we all decided that two new kingmakers should be elected to replace the deceased ones and a letter written to the governor declaring the seat vacant. But Chief Adedeji refused, insisting we won’t do that. He also announced he was no longer interested in being a kingmaker. That led to chaos, and the meeting ended without any resolut Is the king deceased?. What kind of reporting is this? |

Gustavowhite:Let me borrow them some sense if it makes sense at all The king makers only needs to appoint a stand in king which is otherwise known as a regent amongst the present ruling house pending the time the jailed man will return and will be properly deposed. I bet you ,he won't insist on being a king cos the shame will be too much for him to bear. So they the next king will now be nominated from the second ruling house. This will only enable fairness and allow for proper choosing and kingship rites to be performed. They need to apply wisdom and be peaceful otherwise interlopers will hijack |

Marvellee:Read what you wrote again and cover your face in shame. He was chosen by no 'gods', but by a bunch of crooks. This is the exact reason serious nations are tightening their visa rules towards Nigerians. Now imagine a US embassy staff reading your shocking defense here on Nairaland. Every Nigerian he or she will interview tomorrow will be in serious trouble. Stop supporting evil and darkness!!!!!! Seun should censor comments like yours. They threaten societal sanity. ![]() |

mastermaestro:I’d come down to ur level. You and your imaginary comments like someone who’s high on cheap drugs… your mouth is supposed to shift to the left as you called kingmakers crooks. how would you say someone became a king in Yoruba land without the intervention of the gods. There are several sacrifices made before he came on that throne and he was chosen among others by the gods through the kingmakers. There’s what is called “tradition” even if worse come to worse they’d have to consult the gods and make sacrifices to dethrone him, and the gods through the kingmakers will have to select who the next king is. Even if what the king did is an unacceptable act. |

Nigerians always ask for what they get but when the chips are down, they groan in silence. How can anyone want a convicted man who has served jail time to remain as Ọba? What is it telling the younger generation? That crime pays? |
