In 2023, Frederick Nwajiagu, the 'Eze Igbo Ajao Estate'(King of Igbos in Ajao Estate) was arrested after a video of him went viral where he threatened to invite IPOB to Lagos to protect Igbo businesses interests being destroyed there at the time. He was charged to court on 9 counts including terrorism, incitement and parading himself as a King. He was acquitted of all charges, but convicted on one charge of parading himself as a king in Lagos. He has since appealed that conviction stating that “His cultural activities within his private residence cannot, by themselves, establish a kingship or chieftaincy,”

It has also been reported that another Igbo man, Chibuike Azubuike, was arrested for parading himself as the 'Obi of Lagos'. One wonders what all these arrests are about? Is it because they are Igbos?

There is a 'Sarkin Fulani of Lagos', Mohammed Abubakar Bambadoo. A few years ago, he sent out a public invite for a book launch in his 'palace' in Lagos. He even referred to him self as 'his highness'. Why hasnt he ever been arrested?

Here in Enugu, there is 'Sarkin Hausawa Enugu'(King of Hausas in Enugu), Alhaji Abubakar Sambo. Not only has he never been arrested, he was even recently appointed SSA on special duties to Governor Mba

In Anambra, there is 'kabiyesi of Awka', Oba Abdul Olahan. He has never been arrested

So why this arrest of Igbos who call themselves kings in Lagos?

Lagos state is a federating unit in a Federation. My problem with them is mixing a federal system with Unitary system as introduced by Aguiyi Ironsi, we have Federal Constitution in Nigeria and not Unitary Constitution, let that sink

The moment your country is ruled by touts, gangs and poorly educated folks, the law and constitution are ignored over traditions and acts of impunity.

Next time they should be very much aware of the hatred around them and make sure they do double consultations, receive multiple go aheads before such event. While I call it gross injustice to arrest without investigation, it's also carelessness to do such in a state where there is growing animosity towards them

Why was there no arrest or FG stopping your region from observing Monday sit at home?

Why is FG unable to stop the north from banning the sale of alcohol.
