President Mahama said Ghana already facilitated the return of deported Nigerians to their country by bus while the Gambian was still being assisted to return home.

We were approached by the US to accept third-party nationals who were being removed from the US. And we agreed with them that West African nationals were acceptable because all our fellow West African nationals don't need visas to come to our country. So if they decided to travel from the US to Accra, they don't need a visa anyway so if you are bringing our colleague West Africans back, that's okay. I think that agreement has been activated and the first batch of fourteen nationals came, several of them were our Nigerians brothers.

Nigeria, a vocal opponent has vowed she will not accept third-party nationals deported from the US. In turn, Ghana becomes the fifth Country to accept US deported nationals after Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan and Eswatini entered similar agreements with the US.

To what end, why not bring them directly home.
Certainly there's something about this matter of deportation

Human resources is very vital but most African nations impoverish and starve that resource. Letting them become liabilities instead.

They are being paid per evey deportee by the US govt

They will then turn around and deport them back to their countries.

Its a win win for Ghana as they make money from the whole ordeal and get to deport the ones already in Ghana alongside the ones Trump is sending their way.

They will then claim all those they are deporting where the ones Trump sent their way

They will make at least $2,000 per deportee and that's excluding airport taxes and fueling sales they will generate for each aircraft that lands in their airport.

Ghana that can not pay his bonds to the holders. That is a bankrupt nation. They will do anything at this point to cling to America even if its to get some crumbs in dollars. If i am lying ask Michael Blackson who invested 1m dollars in treasury bills and Ghana cant pay him when it matured.

Trump is just being wicked. Initially he said he was deporting them to other countries because they were being rejected by their own country. Ask yourself if Nigeria has rejected any of her citizens deported from the US.

This is wrong information...

No one is paying anyone. Rather it seems the Ghanian government is the one bearing the cost from Ghana. Ghana isn't making any money.

I watched mahama say that out of the 14 sent to Ghana... majority of them were Nigerians and since the cost wasn't much they were put on a bus and sent to Nigeria.

He said they was a Gambian and since he couldn't go by road and required air flight they sent a message to the Gambian government and were awaiting their response. Meaning they didn't want to bear the expenses for the flight!
