A huge private investment that ought to be protected by government, is left for the hawks to be toying with. The blessing and monopoly broken by Dangote refinery is not going well with the cabals. DSS intervention must prevail, and every act of sabotage should be treated accordingly. It should no longer be business as usual. |

yinkus6750:Has nothing to do with cabals or sabotage. It's all about a worker's right to join a union |

Joining a union is not by force. The union laws are clear on this and if NUPENG really cares about the welfare of workers then there should be a better way to handle this issue l. |

One laptop boy made a comment the other day, saying that people just want to spoil the refinery of Dangote simply because they are demanding that Dangote's rule of "no trade union" be contested and that Dangote is an international corporation and therefore too big and so should not adhere to corporate rules. Then I replied: 1. Exxon Mobil, an international megacorporation of operating revenue of US$349.6 billion (2024). 2. Dangote, an international corporation, having an operating income of US$4 billion in 2017 (and far lower due to the more than 1000% inflation today). Number 1 obeys all union rules even with its bad politics while small number 2 is trying to make sure there is no unionism ![]() |

Dangote is not an individual but corporate entity! Do they (NUPENG) have to sell or paste sticker to know they are union? If I have my way, unionism will be made voluntary ond restricted to their corporate offices! |

guass:Unions also fight for things like improved salaries and working conditions. Otherwise dangote and co will get away not improving salaries for example in the name of keeping their companies profitable. Yes dangote refinery has helped our country, but at the end, it exists to make him richer |

Joining a trade union is voluntary. But nupeng wants to make it compulsory. The individual drivers while they can join trade unions are not the owners of the trucks so why should nupeng paste thier stickers on them. |

This so called Nupeng held the entire Nigerians masses by the jugular for decades of heartless economic exploitation, they imported substandard pms that destroyed cars, we slept at filling stations for days, they fixed their prices arbitrarily, they made billions, even mere fuel attendants became gods at the pump, now another bigger player has stepped in and they are scared and screaming that Nigerians should rally around them to prevent monopoly, shouldn't unionism be voluntary? Must it by force? Dangote raised billions to build a refinery and you want to forcefully control his business through the backdoor by unionism, let Nupeng come together, raise money, build their refinery and unionized them, shikena. |

Every professional body has representation. Without unions Nigerian employers would have bastardized the system. Even with cabotage law In place and recently signed local content act you can still see the impunity meted by employers on employees. Nupeng has played a leading role in the petroleum downstream sector. Is dangote trying to use a system we know hid transport managers for to break a large and powerful union like Nupeng that have protected tanker drivers everywhere without fear or favour?? Well Nupeng has faced more dangerous challenges before and it's good. |

Kastonkastroll:I was expecting obi and atiku to have weighed in on this since they have solution to all Nigeria's problems.....but no they won't because there is a direct consequence for whatever they say.....but if it's about making generalistic comments without any manifest solutions they will be quick to impress their gaulible followers. |

Nupeng should carry their aluta madness to outside the refinery. Black tax is their main problem, Dangote will demistify them. Each petrol tanker pays union dues per loading at the Depot after loading of 20k around 2018 in the name of stickers. Which is far more now. We know NUPENG wants Dangote to start paying which will generate for them billions of naira annually which Dangote and his cousin won't pay a dime as typical Lagos boys😅😂🤣. Dangote trucks don't use any form of union stickers 📌💯 |

Unions exist for their selfish interests. Imagine what a character like Oshomole has turned to.. He used the Union to become popular and later turned to a horrible character helping the APC to destroy Nigeria |
