Brother... Chill. You're not making sense. Seems you don't understand the community is the most important tool in crime fighting. Without tips, witnesses and the likes, the police can never be efficient. So you just dismissing their effort with the father bringing him in makes no sense.

Whether it took 2 days or 2 weeks, it would only have been a matter of time before he got caught. With CCTV cameras littered everywhere in that vicinity, the young man had no where to run to. Hence his confession to his father, and his father's wisdom in turning him in - knowing that there is no hiding place for his criminal of a son.

He looks harmless.
