Take a late night flight from PH to Lagos and see the amount of gas flaring.. Bunkering flames.. The cloud just can't hide it as it glows at night.. We have enough power to generate electricity through heat water turbine.. We are not even using EVs on high scale say.. We have every reason to produceexcess power as we used to.. Even invest in wind mills too.. But the touts have hijacked the government system.. Is now filled with clowns and nitwits.. Sorry Nigeria.. We are a sorry lot!.. The educated have been widely outnumbered by uneducated. |

It seems the gencos are not making huge profits as I always assumed. One thing we should all understand is that if we truly want to enjoy uninterrupted power supply in this country, we should be ready to pay heavy bills. Electricity is not cheap anywhere in the world. That's the fact. |

You get what you pay for. This is the result of most of us not paying cost reflective tarrifs You can abuse me, it doesn't change that fact. ![]() |

With the humongous fee that masses are paying for electricity, I wonder what they are using the money for. It has entered the private pockets. |

Our politicians has no iota of integrity, Tinubu boldly declared he will fix electricity otherwise he should not be voted in for the second term. What has he achieved in that sector nothing, yet some people still have the boldness to say he his fit for second term . As how now? |

Buhari never hiked fuel price to the extent Tinubu has, yet Buhari achieved more stable electricity. The Tinubu disaster is still unfolding and everyone will eventually feel it! |

At this point I would rather generate my own electricity, there is no point continuing to pay for a service that I am not getting. |

oche2020:How can our ![]() chisomkachy:May 1, 2025 May Day: Hunger, unemployment, insecurity real— Tinubu According to him: “The theme demands our collective attention and serves as a stark reminder of the need to create an environment where every worker feels safe, valued, and empowered to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our nation. As your President, I assure you that this administration is committed to creating such an environment for the common good.” On the economic hardship, he noted that while it is a global phenomenon, its effects on Nigerians are particularly severe. Tinubu said: “I am aware of the peculiarities of the economic hardship Nigerians face—rising living costs, hunger, insecurity, unemployment, and the loss of livelihoods. These challenges are real and demand definitive solutions, which I am poised to address as your President. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/05/may-day-hunger-unemployment-insecurity-real-tinubu/ |

Blazetrailer:Thanks for implying i support apc when the above view that i hold , i have held it since 2013. After reading up about why GEJ wanted to give us discos and gencos. That ended my opposition to his ideas on power. But then again, since you think that everyone who disagrees with you is on 30k a month, enjoy yourself. This issue is not a politics thing. GSM works well under tinubu because 100% of people pay cost reflective tarrifs. Power does not work because only 20% of consumers pay cost reflective tarrifs, and 30% don't pay at all. The rest pay below cost of production, and the subsidy paid does not cover it. PwC has a good report on the matter from 2019 , solving the liquidity crunch in the Nigerian power sector. Explains everything. But then again, it won't be useful to you. You think wrongly about me Well, enjoy your imagination Last year, the sector made 1 trillion in profit. For your mind, that will sort out the 5 trillion debt to the gas companies. |
