“In truth, what INEC has done is to place a legal stamp on a house built on sand,” said the ruling party. The All Progressives Congress in Lagos described the recognition of the African Democratic Congress by the Independent National Electoral Commission as a hollow victory. The ruling party, in a statement by its Lagos chapter’s spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, however, welcomed the recognition ahead of the 2027 general elections, asserting that the legitimacy would allow the coalition to build structures anchored on transparency and principles, rather than manipulation, propaganda, and excuses. “The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress congratulates the newly recognised leadership of the African Democratic Congress following the pronouncement by the Independent National Electoral Commission,” the statement said. It added, “While we acknowledge this formal recognition, we cannot overlook the many pitfalls, questionable processes, and undeniable undemocratic, underhanded tactics that trailed its emergence. In truth, what INEC has done is to place a legal stamp on a house built on sand.” While charging ADC “to be prepared to add value to Nigeria’s democracy by playing the role of a credible opposition that offers realistic policy alternatives, rather than indulging in bitter rhetoric that adds no value to governance or the lives of Nigerians”, the APC cautioned the coalition against premature campaigns, noting the 2027 elections are still far ahead. “To jump the gun not only undermines fair competition but also exposes a party’s desperation and disregard for law and order,” it said. The ruling party further accused the coalition of building excuses, issuing press statements, and thriving on empty noise, compared to the APC, which, according to the statement, builds roads, rails, power infrastructure, and implements economic reforms that create a future for Nigerians. Stating that the ruling APC, under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, remains fully committed to fair play, the law, and the democratic order, the statement advised the ADC to channel its energies into issue-based politics, constructive engagement, and adherence to the rules of the game, rather than indulging in political rascality and premature electioneering https://gazettengr.com/apc-slams-inec-for-recognising-shady-adc-as-political-party/ |

ADC is more of a hospice home than a political party. It should have been registered s a hospice institution. A congregation of retired, outdated, irrelevant and redundant politicians. At some point, even though I do know the devil has a way of uniting his own kind, I still find it difficult to believe the devil can unite old and political redundant men for a course. The party needs to re-consider their stance. Are they really ready when all resources and personnel’s are aging towards the grave. Have they been sincere with reality to have believed they have a chance with His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) God made everything perfect. He gave us all we needed to succeed. Some people just ignored that gift and started hoping for fictions. |

favor914:You could be very right at some point. Cos it shocking that we still have humans on Earth who believe His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) will lose the 2027 election. It’s practically like believing the sun won’t rise on a new day. |

Imagine an internationally recognized terrórist organîzation slamming INEC for recognizing the David Mark-led ADC coalition that’s exactly how absurd the APC’s statement sounds. Describing David Mark’s ADC leadership emergence as ‘shady’ is not just ironic, it’s laughable. His leadership was the product of due process and broad coalition consensus. Meanwhile, the APC has had four national chairmen in just two years rotating leadership like it’s a game of musical chairs. If there’s any party that embodies shady power grabs, it’s the APC. |

The recognition of David Mark as ADC chairman is the only thing that is seemingly against APC that INEC has done since 2023. And the only reason they recognized David Mark is because they looked for a loophole that they could hold onto and deny him recognition and couldn’t find any. The next should be the recognition of Nenadi Usman as the Chairperson of Labour Party. Yakubu should use that one as his send off gift. |
