ogododo:You can't help but borrow......you earn 100k monthly as salary and you are using 61k to service debt you owed.....the balance of 39k can't meet all ur obligations so you need to still borrow to cover your needs. |

poiZon:It was over 90% before tinubu.....you need to know how to read and contextualize......this even vindicates tinubu that the country needs to earn more and his tax drive is not entirely out of place......imagine still paying petrol and dollar subsidies with this debt crisis. |

grandstar:This is for 24 budget,25 bu$get just starts this Sept......non oil revenue targets for the year have already been met-,it's not same as debt servicing projections for 24 budget. |

Lithiumite:There was no record, viable records to show that we spent 90kobo to service debt from every 1naira we earned. Do you know what it means to spend 90% of ur earnings in servicing debt? That means you r left with 10percent to share to the 3 tiers of govts... Just like they lied that the 15billion dollars rehabilitated refineries were working at 80percent, what can't these people not say to lift their ego... |

grandstar:It was worst during late Buhari tenure. In May 2025, it was over 80% of government revenue that was allocated to servicing debts, leaving minimal funds for essential services like health and education etc. It was worst in 2024, when debt servicing consumed 147 percent of the N6.08tn retained revenue. |

Ofunaofu:So you mean that the government should default in their debt obligations. You know very well what it means. You know the signal that it will send to the whole world concerning our economy. I thought that the government should be applauded. Projected revenue fell below projection but the managers of the economy managed to meet all obligations. |

sammyj:Consult your economics teacher. If you meet your revenue projection does that equate to meeting your obligations. You projected 100k as revenue and you met the target but your expenditure is 150k. Wouldn't you borrow? |

Why spend more than you have, if I may ask Mr. Economics professor This is an example of pennywise and pounds foolishness and incompetence. Vision101: |

Putinofrussia:I actually have very high praise for Tinubu's management of the economy. I know that Buhari's government largely relied on Ways and Means to finance the budget. |

Vision101:Meeting obligations at the cost of economic collapse isn't an achievement, it's a warning sign. Nobody is saying defaulting is the solution, but piling on more debt just to service old debt is not fiscal discipline, it’s economic suicide. You don’t clap for a captain who says we avoided sinking while drilling holes in the ship. If revenue is collapsing and all you’re doing is borrowing more to stay afloat, that's not managing an economy, it's kicking the can down the road and hoping the next generation pays the price. Nigeria doesn’t need blind loyalty or applause for survival tactics, we need a real recovery plan, fiscal responsibility, and leadership with foresight. Not more propaganda to excuse economic mismanagement. |

Ofunaofu:In all that you said you didn't suggest alternatives nor provide solutions. It was all condemnation. This is what happens when you speak with political bias. You have already called it propaganda. I spoke from economic standpoint and not Nigerian politics of hatred. |

sammyj:Hahaha..... again consult your economics teacher. Very few budgets all over the world are balanced. If you insist on spending only what you have there will be less capital formation. We are talking about macroeconomics and not personal finance. In budget income and expenditure are projections. I'll stop here. |

Balanced budget coming from a corrupt and selfish government that only cares about themselves and not the people. Lets see where this will end after you have finished consulting your own economic teacher. ![]() Vision101: |
