I heard even some of his assets may be seized.. A good one... would serve as a lesson to all would-be briefcase investors parading as contractors everywhere, using padi Padi to steal from the system. Dear EFCC, kindly extend same punishment to all politically exposed persons stealing up and down.. anytime you catch them, seize all their known properties, sell them by auction till you recover the exact amount they steal, without wasting time. Others go learn. I heard one former governor you were prosecuting after a long run still moves around with tens of motor convoy and plenty security details.. We are not fighting corruption enough. |

Always heard he was never a straightforward businessman. “Rather than play to the rules of the contract, Mr. Ogundele resorted to shoddy jobs and the use of inexperienced workers and quack engineers. This is the impression given about him by those in the real estate cum construction sector. Enugu State must teach him a lesson he will never forget. |

This is serious and will surely dent his profile. Judging from his story, it borders on morality. Judging from Enugu State's story, it borders on fraud. Let the court decide with her eyes blindfolded. |

Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited vs EFCC My Observations as an Estate Consultant – Opinions and Lessons It is no longer a rumor that Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited has been declared wanted by the EFCC. The background of the issue stems from a contract between Enugu State Government and Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited for the construction of 22 Smart Schools in the state. The contention is that the company failed to deliver on the project as agreed. In response, the CEO of Sujimoto publicly addressed the matter, highlighting the efforts made and explaining why the contract did not go as planned. Among the reasons he gave were: The sharp increase in cement prices — from about ₦7,000 per bag at the time of the contract to ₦10,000 later. Lack of prior experience in constructing Smart Schools, as opposed to his core area of expertise (luxury buildings). From my perspective, the second reason weighed more heavily than the first. Price fluctuations are a reality in construction, and partial delivery could still have been achieved — for instance, completing a proportionate number of schools (say 18 out of 22) could have provided a basis for renegotiation rather than total project collapse. On the other hand, the Enugu State Governor alleged that the contract was a deliberate attempt to defraud the state of over ₦5 billion, hence the demand for a total refund. I am not here to judge either party, but there are clear lessons to be learned: For Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited: The company should have declined the project once it was clear that the governor deviated from the original plan (a high-rise building) into an area outside Sujimoto’s expertise. Accepting a project of over ₦11 billion without specialization was a huge gamble. For Enugu State Government: Such a critical project should have been awarded to a contractor with proven expertise and track records in Smart School construction. Trial and error with taxpayers’ money leads to wasted resources and abandoned projects. This is not peculiar to Enugu alone; across Nigeria, many projects are abandoned because they were entrusted to unqualified hands. The involvement of the EFCC is therefore a welcome step. Nigerians await a thorough investigation and a logical conclusion. Hopefully, this incident will serve as a wake-up call for both government and contractors to prioritize competence, experience, and transparency in project execution. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. — Ayoola Akinwunmi (INTEGRITYA1) Estate Consultant |

multiplatforms:I follow Sijibomi and Sujimoto on IG among several global business and political icons and I remember full well that the young man passionately stated his housing partnership with Enugu State. He came off as someone who truly loves Enugu State despite being a successful Lagos-based luxury construction guy and more. I'm surprised that things went completely south months later. It's surreal. He should just refund the money already paid to him and cut his losses since the site has been awarded to another construction company. Sijibomi [who is a lawyer and worked in the banking sector analysing different markets] should have simply stuck to his impressive niche luxury houses and apartments construction in Lagos State and other contiguous locations instead of accepting the Enugu State project which he said the Governor didn't have enough money to cover in an earlier video. I hope he pulls through and reconciles his differences with Enugu State. Sijibomi has always been a fighter from his teenage years and he will definitely bounce back wiser. Lessons learned: Do NOT take up capital-intensive projects in times of economic uncertainties unless there's a very firm guarantee in the project clause of an upward review in the contract sum. Period. |

This is a deliberate attempt by Siji to defraud Enugu state, he should be made to cough out every kobo collected for job not done. He thought he can do as he wish and go scot free. If the contract was underpriced, what's the work done based on the over N5b upfront collected. |
