The killer or assassin was sad about the way Kirk had a lot of people listening to him about the very core values of Americans so out of anger and intolerance decided to silence him. Note he was even staying with one of these gay people....so it is clear it was out of hatred to another person's beliefs that the murder occurred. Crap. Most of the public office holders who have been busted for immoral acts in the US have been white male Christian evangelicals who preached morality in public but end up getting busted for doing exactly what they preached against.
A good example was a Governor of South Carolina who was the public face of white a Christian evangelicals at that point, only to be busted for leaving his state and country just to go and ha e sex with another woman outside of the country while married.
There have been many many of such busted hypocrites mostly in the White male evangelicals group.

What is the connection between this and my post? Do you mean to highlight that many people only pretend to adhere to the ideology they outwardly proclaim? Yes, that's what hypocrisy means.
