It's probably the worst one in the franchise imo. it lacked any proper cohesive story telling and they thought they could just pepper over it with one ridiculous stunt after another, and that runtime of almost 3 hours? Totally ridiculous and uncalled for, i basically had a migraine by the end of it, and these Mfs were going on about some "Key" and in a bid to tie it to the other movies in the franchise, ran into avoidable plot holes.

For the so called final film in the franchise, the ending felt nothing like it, flat and unremarkable, it surprisingly looked more like a setup for another one, should incase OG Tom Cruise run into money problems sometime in the future, i could easily seeing him doing one more fgs 😩.

This franchise should have ended like 3 movies ago, and this slop epitomizes that fact.

Series peaked with Rogue Nation, I'm afraid.

If it was a Nigerian movie, no one will even remember it falls under some of the tales we were told or even some movies we have seen when younger , only thing missing is a prayer warrior or religious family to combat that woman. Maybe its the irreligiousness of the US that 17 kids go missing and no one went to 'find out'?

Everyone just start comfortably expecting the cops to sort it out save the teacher and that parent. While the end was quite funny, enjoyable to see that she got what she deserved and more, the whole movie was a letdown.

If you go with most of our reviews here, you’d miss a lot. That’s why I keep saying: don't let any armchair critic, myself included discourage you from seeing a movie. You either like it, or you dislike it, Las las na data you waste, nobody die. Check out IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic et.al, they are saying a totally different thing from what's being said here.


I honestly don’t get people’s beef with this movie. Weapons is one of the most ambitious horror-mysteries I have seen in a long while. What I really fancied about the movie was how Zach Cregger took a chilling concept and built it into a layered story full of atmosphere, strong performances, and lingering dread. It doesn’t spoon feed or hand you every answer on a plate, but that’s part of what makes it effective because sometimes the unknown is scarier than any explanation.

If you enjoy horror that blends psychological depth with supernatural tension, Weapons will hit the mark. If you prefer a straightforward narrative with all the dots neatly connected, you may find the ambiguity frustrating. For me, the film’s mood, tension, and human drama are exactly what give it staying power.

Weapons is not just about scares it’s about mood, mystery, and the human cost of the unknown.

Not really my kinda genre tbh, but at the end, i found myself extremely well entertained....i mean decent enough plot, decent enough animation, kinda like that of "Arcane", and decent OST too.

But i think only a selected crowd would enjoy it tho, has a certain K-pop infused sugary pop feel.

Arcane has best animation but the story sucks.. Especially season 2

Now, a typical horror flick almost always has two layers: “How it happened” and “Why it happened.” But Weapons is no ordinary horror film. It leans heavily into “How it happened” something that was even splattered across the trailers while the “Why” is never spoon-fed. You have to work it out yourself. And that’s why I think this is such a technically brilliant film.

How It Happened

From the trailers alone, most people could already grasp the central premise. As I mentioned earlier: 17 kids from the same class suddenly wake up at exactly 2:17 a.m. and run into the night in the same strange, synchronized fashion. This chilling event is the very first scene, the film doesn’t waste time getting to the core mystery.

Why It Happened

What followed was simply brilliant filmmaking. As the small-town community tries to unravel the mystery, the film dives into a non-chronological style of storytelling. Each thread is told through the POV of different central characters. A dramatic or shocking moment is shown first, then the film rewinds to reveal the events leading up to it, filling in the blanks while also building character depth.

The narrative explores how such a traumatic event can tear apart the fabric of a town, exposing secrets, scapegoating, and rising accusations as tensions boil higher each day the kids remain missing. By the time the story moves toward its final act, I was initially worried, the filmmaker seemed to be withholding too much context after such an excellent buildup. But the deeper the act unfolded, the more clarity it offered, and by the end, I was left deeply satisfied.


One thing I especially loved, something rare in horror films, was the dramatic, almost theatrical tone. It allowed for stronger character arcs and made the main cast more compelling. Julia Garner, who I honestly couldn’t stand in Ozark, truly surprised me here; she delivered a weighty, nuanced performance. Josh Brolin was solid as always.

The cinematography deserves special praise too. The recurring use of dark frames with a single lit element in the center created an unsettling, beautiful visual style that I absolutely loved.


I see why, Jordan Peele reportedly fired his team when they lost rights to this. It is such a technically brilliant and well scripted film with a lot to unpack and a lot of symbolism to unravel, hence the many pieces and explanations online, trying to decipher what the film was truly about, and that's what a good film does to you, and i probably believe the hype now, not that this year has been littered with good films, this is one of the very good ones.

Aptly written. That Matthew 2:17 reference I had to actually go back and read it and honestly it clicked for me. The prophecy about mass child loss and collective grief ties in so well here. 17 school kids missing, then that haunting dream with the AR-15 right above Alex’s roof… it’s very hard not to connect that to the tragic reality of school shootings in America.

And this is where the film shines: it refuses to spell everything out, instead it gives you space to draw meaning. When you link Matthew’s prophecy of children lost with today’s cycle of shootings, violence, and community trauma, the symbolism becomes even stronger.

This is the kind of layered storytelling you also see in movies like Elephant, Donnie Darko, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, and Joker. All these films use violence and symbolism not just for shock value but to push you into deeper thought. Weapons definitely belongs in that same conversation.

For me, Weapons is more than just horror, it’s a bold, thought-provoking film that lingers in your mind long after the credits roll. Truly one of the standout films of the year.

Exactly! I felt the same way reading those negative reviews. Honestly, if not for the ratings on IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes, I probably would have given it a hard pass. But after watching, I just kept asking myself did these people even see the same movie I did? Weapons was powerful, unsettling, and brilliantly layered...the kind of film that doesn’t just entertain you, it sticks with you and makes you think long after it ends. Sometimes I feel like we armchair critics can be too quick to tear things down without pointing to anything tangible.

Premise:

A traumatized member of an elite para-military police force falls for the sister of a female terrorist courier who died in front of him on duty.


This anime movie was quite confusing at first until major Revelations and plot twists in the second half.

Just watched the Korean live action adaptation of this anime movie.

It's called illang: The Wolf Brigade (2018)

The story was changed and the ending as well. The ending in the anime was much more darker than the movie ending. Backstories were changed as well...

The biggest difference with the ending is the conclusion of the MC's character arc.
Whereas in the anime, his character arc ended with him fully accepting his "wolf nature".
In the movie, the writers went the opposite way with his character dropping the wolf nature and becoming more humane.

I prefer the anime because it ties better to the theme of the Wolf Brigade's "We are not men disguised as mere dogs. We are wolves disguised as men."

I think they both work as their own thing and I enjoyed the live action as well...

But the anime is definitely better.
I'd recommend to watch the anime movie first, then watch the Korean live action movie

David Ellison just be like......."daddy, I want this one" and baba go fast fast buy am, the merger between skydance and paramount never even cool finish and they are planning on doing this before Warner bros discovery split up next year. Other bidders includes Netflix and Amazon who are also planning on merging before the split

All in all, even if it goes through which I highly doubt will happen, Comcast (universal) will still be bigger than them combined not to forget how the other big 3 (Disney, Comcast and Sony) will lobby government to stop the merger citing anti monopoly laws especially with their skydance paramount merger that's still fresh

The assets are just split from the rest of the studios and streaming business — the profitable part. Also mainly a plan to help push their stock price up with debt and free cash flow separated from the loss leader— cable networks.

I doubt it'll go through.
It's still too early. Skydance aren't really all that experienced with this mega studio stuff but they do throw in a juicy deal to try and buy WB with the proposal to seal the deal through majorly cash instead of stock options. It's hard to refuse that.

But if it's the same old same old style of buying through stock price and equity, I doubt it'd pull through..... WB has gone through that already multiple times and the board wants good earnings for their investments.

All in all, I just think they're testing the waters.

At bolded....Yep. That's actually the point.

The spinoff is to separate the debt from the main company. It's just tricky way to trick peeps the company is healthy and overlook the faltering linear business.
It's to help the studios and streaming stock grow while separating the debt from burdening their growth.

WB has had good business in the streaming side (HBOMAX) since last year and was the first streamer not named Netflix to record a profit. They added massive numbers of subscribers earlier this year and have been pushing an aggressive global rollout since late last year and available in almost 100 territories worldwide. Also factor in the fact that HBOMAX has been easily the next higher average revenue per user (ARPU) after Netflix for a long time despite being in far less territory and subs.

Yet, how do Wall Street reward them?
Their stock price still went down or barely changed much.

Wall Street is just a group of finance guys majorly concerned about their pocket and what they stand to gain in the now and nothing much of longevity.
That just tells me, Wall Street don't really give af.

In fact Wall Street are the ones pressuring WB into spinning off the TV networks same as COMCAST is doing.

I don't think the board care or gives AF if Skydance is inexperienced. David Zaslav was massively inexperienced when his Discovery took over WB. Zaslav was a TV executive and knew next to nothing about Hollywood or the theatrical landscape, yet he was given the keys to one of the largest media conglomerate on earth.
You seem to have forgotten how Big Zas was the public enemy № 1 for every news platform trying to get clicks in Hollywood.

It doesn't matter bruv. They'd sell if they feel it's a good deal for them and takes a huge chunk off the debt waying the stock price down.

What I've heard is they'd be willing to hear what Skydance has to say if they're making the merger majorly in cash. Cos that's what the studio actually need, not stock options and equity.

If Skydance say for example they brought $30bn cash. I bet they wouldn't refuse that proposition then the rest $30-35bn can be equity. That's a good deal.

Anyways, I hope and I don't want this deal to happen. They'd be better off as is or prolly merge with Apple TV ( I doubt since those ones are averse to spending big on acquisitions) or joining NBCUniversal — the most ideal.
