Last two seasons, i saw clips from his private training sessions and he was getting drilled on that Robben style and curling the ball to the top corner consistently. But was surprised not to see it under Maresca, despite the fact that he was the most talented winger we had in 1v1, but his unwillingness to push harder did him in. He needs a coach to put him on his toes.

He created 3 chances in 10 mins. One led to the goal, the second Palmer should have got at least a shot on goal. Those two chances were why I went on record first to get him.

You can't criticize him for the single one the went astray.

His introduction was an immediate impact. Imagine what could happen with him over a 90-min period with Joao, Palmer, Estevao attacking goal.

Football is simple even if appears complicated.

1. To WIN any given match - a team MUST score more than the opponent. Margin of win is secondary because you can't always control it. Winning is key = GOALS.
2. Beside the coach, you need a balanced team - read - Ultra sharp attackers, energetic and IQ midfielders, formidable back-line and a dependable GK.
However, that one no mean say you won't concede because mistakes are inevitable and some goals cannot just be stopped. If you like pack 50 Yashins in goal.
3. At this level, a team probably wont always concede 5 goals in a game, same way a team won't always score 5 goals in a game. Obviously you might want to argue it's contradictory - it's not, but hey, if in doubt check point 1.
