He also said subsidising fuel was never sustainable and the country would have been bankrupt by now if President Bola Tinubu didn’t remove it.
So what was Tinubu’s response when Jonathan tried to remove subsidy in 2012?

Do you know what it means to have integrity and not be a hypocrite? Tinubu obviously has IntegriThief only.

Did he manipulate Buhari’s 2011 running mate to play politics with the Ojota protests?

Petrol should never cost more than N70 per litre, says APC

January 19, 2015

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as mere tokenism the reduction of petrol price from N97 to N87 per litre, saying the petroleum product ordinarily should sell for N70.

On Sunday, the federal government announced the reduction of petrol price, citing the fall of global crude oil price.

But the APC through Lai Mohammed, its spokesman, on Monday accused the government of making a show out of deceit, saying “a 10.3 per cent slash in the price of petrol was a mere tokenism at a time the price of crude oil has crashed by about 60 per cent”.

It argued that the pump price of a litre of petrol should not be more than 70 Naira, alleging that at N87 per litre, the government was forcing Nigerians to subsidise the massive corruption in the oil sector by N17 for every litre of fuel.

Buhari’ll reduce petrol to N40/L —David-West

FORMER Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Prof. Tamunoemi David-West, said that Nigerians should expect sharp drop in petrol price from the current N87 to about N40 per litre, saying, “the president-elect, Gen. Mohammed Buhari, will reduce the fuel pump price to N40 per litre.”

Stop blaming someone else for the legendary sloppiness and leadership frailties of Jonathan. People will always protest. It is left to you as a leader.

By, the way, why didn't Jonathan lead a protest of his own. Has he renounced his Nigerian citizenship?

98% of Nigeria's youths are very stupid and docile. It's appalling to see and hear them champion tribalism. They have no bearing. If you like don't wake up.

Successful leaders in the past and current ones, were people that said YOUTHS ARE THE LEADERS OF TOMORROW, when the youths were in 20-40 age bracket. Today some of those youths are between 45 to 60 years of age, and those called leaders are still in charge.

If you want Nigeria to change, let the youths begin with holding the leaders accountable. Start asking questions. Nobody will kill you. Come to US, government here is accountable.

Most parts of the world are like over 100 year ahead of Nigeria. But my dear country's youths are still discussing tribalism and jollof rice. The painful part is, even if a leader is doing bad in office, his people will still support him.

WAKE UP AND HOLD YOUR LEADERS ACCOUNTABLE.

Why we have to be grateful for having His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) in times like this.

His election is a PERFECT selection and a round peg in a round hole.

No other politician in his league had such competence and experience to bail out Nigeria in critical times that we find ourselves.
He hasn't done anything, Nigerians living conditions are worst since he took over, he was just over hyped to build Lagos, so incompetent and clueless. Just a task master squeezing life out of the poor masses

Oga, try to be visionary in your imagination. Tinubu is the best thing that happened to Nigeria.

Simple Logic, if you can not make yourself and family rich legitimately, u can never make a nation rich. Voting a poor candidate with no track record of success by himself is already a failure because you can not start practising from the top.

Tinubu Na goal getter

So what happened with the national protest against the removal led by the same person just a few years earlier.

This question needs to be answered because it is the genesis of where we are today. As a party leader was this matter ever discussed throughout the first eight year rule of the APC?

This is the quality of leadership the Emir is talking about. The lack of integrity. The anywhere belle face policy. The truth is that it is was all about the money then It is always about the money, even now.

He has spoken out against the system many times. He is one person that has invested a lot in education. And amongst his peers he is the most forward thinking. That is a fact. But like every system the Almajiri question is deeply rooted, a sub cultural bastion that requires collective responsibility and action. An individual can only do so much.

Was Tinubu the commander in chief then?

That is the reason leaders like Jonathan and Obi are not real leader because they are weak and don't have clue to the policies they wanted to implement. Why did they reverted back if they are sure of what they are doing or did they expect Nigeria not to protest it?

When Tinubu implemented it, was it not protested across the nation? even having assured Nigerians that he will remove it if he won? But am confident that if that strike goes for one year Tinubu will not revert because he knows its the best policy for this nation at this time. Painful but, Now we gradually getting used to the effects and moving forward.
Tinubu is strong yet you have Insecurities at an all time high.

Getting used to the effect suffering you say. How about getting used to the dividends?

Apart from increased allocation to the governors, who'll end up stealing the money, what are the citizens benefiting from the subsidy removal?

I'm expecting your lame response of holding governors accountable.

Just took the words out of my mouth.
This question will continue to haunt this government, this party, this president for as long as the economy refuses to fly.

The only luck they have is that not only do Nigerians have short memories but they are not analytical, cannot infer experiences today from actions yesterday.

They cannot understand what truly happened in 2012 and what the results are today. The deception, the misinformation, the insidious tact aimed at crippling that government.

They knew subsudies were unsustainable and will damage the economy totally so they willfully desired a damaged economy to gain politocal capital and eventually power.

For this singular reason of removing fuel subsidy, and no any protest or strike from any quarters, nobody enter street to carry placards.

For the fact that I can comfortably drive to any petrol station at any fucking time and freely buy petrol.

For just one fact that no more problem of fuel queues in Nigeria.

I salute the courage of Tinubu.
He's a strong politician

So the present government too should take its criticism in peace and stop haranguing it's critics because it is the direct cause of the economic problem we have today.

This leadership today stopped the removal of subsidy in 2012 then watched as a government it subsequently supported and Installed balloon the debts to the realm of unsustainability.

It cannot escape, erase or whitewash that fact. Hindsight will always be 20/20. Why didn't Mr. President as party leader implore Mr. Buhari to stop borrowing and remove subsidies all the years between 2015 and 2023. Is that how politics is played in Nigeria.

Where is the integrity when you keep silent and watch your country burn just because of personal ambition.
