https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9qX0ShFH0w?si=SU-rhDETTUAVtHrT The City of Johannesburg’s busiest road, Lilian Ngoyi Street, was finally reopened after two years of repairs. One person died and 48 others were injured in the explosion when the major corridor, formerly known as Bree Street, was split in two by a massive gas explosion during peak hour traffic on 20 July 2023. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFsezAtqolE?si=cVrGpLNqWGk2CxhA Businesses and commuters were severely affected by missed deadlines, as the repair work took nearly 26 months to complete, which was double the initial deadline. The newly reconstructed road, between Loveday Street and End Street, will be a one-way street travelling eastbound. The road has been resurfaced with paving bricks, moving away from traditional tarred surfaces. The JMPD said it appreciates the public’s cooperation and patience during the rehabilitation period and urged continued vigilance as everyone adjusts to the new road layout.

When will Nigerian governors learn to build streets and roads without open gutters...? These things show the laziness on the part of the government, imagine still constructing open gutters in the major roads in the 21st century whereby underground drainage systems have taken over the whole world... |

Corruption will definitely destroy Nigeria. Politicians would rather give billions or millions to concubines and prostitutes than embarking on progressing the country |

South Africa is doing very well as a nation but the government really need to do something about the high level of insecurity that happen in big cities like Cape Town, Jobourg, etc. If they can curtail this, SA will compete with European countries in few decades to come |

Northernblood8:You're very correct sir. Some dudes in Nigeria will say is it not Africa here or ordinary Africa for that matter. Still they've never had that opportunity to travel to South Africa. I stayed 4 months from September to January there and there was never a day I entered a porthole on the road. The city of Sandton in Johannesburg is like heaven. I visited Pretoria, Midrand, Roodepoort, Eladus park, Gauteng and many cities, next will be Cape town. South Africa is beautiful and sitting on top of Nigeria and Nigeria is the giant of Africa only by population. |

okpouman:And you just showed one of the characteristics of low IQ in humans, the news is about South Africa and how they couldn't meet up their construction target and you sees that as a progress. |

PlayerMeji:When will Nigerians learn proper waste disposal? The cost of freeing a clogged closed drain is high. Let’s Nigerians stop indiscriminate dumping of refuse and throwing refuse everywhere first. |

White people built and left Africa’s most developed nation. Black folks that took over can’t even maintain it 😕 What are Black people even capable of building on their own (let alone sustain)? 🙃 . |

I don't know how much longer we need to keep this dysfunctional shit-hole called Nigeria before we admit that it's not working. Just imagine how a street in South Africa looks! |
