Liverpool fans are still holding it for Wirtz despite his poor start, but if Wirtz was to be a Chelsea player, he would have taken more harsh words and criticism from Chelsea fans than he would get from rivals.

Similar to how a striker who's excellent at goal scoring trumps a striker who can do other things but average at goal scoring.

Primary job of a striker is to score goals, primary job of a keeper is to stop shots.

When are we going to see good attacking flow of passes,good ball circulation even when pressed?

When is our striker going to get decent supply of ball to take on defenders and not rely on some individual brilliance?

When are we going to be able to control the midfield without passing back to keep off pressure?

When are we going to stop killing attacking threats from corners by always running back to the goal keeper?

When are we going to try something new in the third half of our opponents?

Don't you guys watch other big team play,do they have the kind of disjointed passing options that characterise our own game play always.

As it is now,we are not better off than last season expect some fluke win against Fulham so weeks ago despite strengthing our squad in the summer.

The earlier EM goes back and challenge himself, to improve on his own tactics,the better for us.

Tell me you don't watch city without telling me you don't. Performance has been terrible. The reason United have 70% possession in this 2nd half and countless shots against us is because we are missing a ball player like Ederson. We can't even control possession anymore against United at home. I fear for us going to Anfield and Emirates.

Pep has moved away from that model. Donnaruma is the evidence of that, not the cause.

It started with Haaland, add Doku, add Kovacic, Nunes and Reijnders, these are all dribblers not ball keepers

Once you lose two or three players from that ball-keeping structure, it will be difficult to insist on maintaining it with a goalkeeper when too many players that implement that have been lost. Things fall apart slowly and the tikitaka centre can no longer hold, so no need for Pep to insist on ball playing keeper.
