With this leg, it will take Nigeria nothing less than 50 years to catch up with where south Africa is today.

It took them 2 years to reconstruct a single street. Same length of road will be done in days in china.
So tell me what makes them different from Nigeria. I will say Nigeria even did better in rehabilitation of damaged infrastructures.
When fire incident destroyed EKO bridge, it took Nigeria 15 months to rebuilt the bridge.

South Africa is doing very well as a nation but the government really need to do something about the high level of insecurity that happen in big cities like Cape Town, Jobourg, etc. If they can curtail this, SA will compete with European countries in few decades to come

The City of Johannesburg’s busiest road, Lilian Ngoyi Street, was finally reopened after two years of repairs.

One person died and 48 others were injured in the explosion when the major corridor, formerly known as Bree Street, was split in two by a massive gas explosion during peak hour traffic on 20 July 2023.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFsezAtqolE?si=cVrGpLNqWGk2CxhA

Businesses and commuters were severely affected by missed deadlines, as the repair work took nearly 26 months to complete, which was double the initial deadline.

The newly reconstructed road, between Loveday Street and End Street, will be a one-way street travelling eastbound.

The road has been resurfaced with paving bricks, moving away from traditional tarred surfaces.

The JMPD said it appreciates the public’s cooperation and patience during the rehabilitation period and urged continued vigilance as everyone adjusts to the new road layout.
These are the cities in Africa truly that are competing with cities like London, newyork and not Lagos or Abuja that can't boast of underground railroad or match the infrastructure am seeing already

Gangs rob people in broad daylight in big cities in South Africa and people go about their businesses like it's normal. This only happens in South Africa.

Even as insecure as Nigeria has become over the years, this hardly happen in big cities, but in SA, they can accost you in a big and busy shopping mall and nothing will happen, this can never happen in any European country, unless maybe East European countries like Romania, etc

When you travel outside Nigeria, you will begin to understand how corruption has under developed the country in all segments of Nigeria. Our standards in this country are terribly low. Sadly, those standards are being celebrated regularly by corrupt politicians and their supporters. Make no mistake about this: our national infrastructure is nothing to write home about compared to our contemporaries around the world. I have been to Europe, Canada, US and Southern Africa, Southern Africa countries are miles ahead of other parts of Africa in terms of infrastructural development
