It is important to point out that out of the 12 chairmen who have led the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) since its inception, 10 have come from the South, while only two have come from the North. This stark imbalance should raise questions about equitable representation in one of Nigeria’s most critical democratic institutions.

Bashir should know that all these while south were being elected to oversee election, northerners were enjoying presidency while consoling south with that position. South would have prefer north retains INEC chairmanship while south retain presidency. Anyway, South west is marginalized; it should be their turn; but not really achievable this time since Yoruba is still the president. Tinubu will prefer the north to carry on. If yoruba should be the INEC chairman this time, obidients will not allow us to hear word again if Obi and Atiku lost the election as usual, they will still say Tinubu rigged as their usual anthem not knowing their structureless parties can't get win beyond 5%
