I am not doing any "China is my friend, the West is my enemy" sort of thing. All I want is a prosperous Africa. The big power that invests towards such is who I align with.

How on earth did China become the cause of Americans' relationship with E-smoke? American youth, especially those who have non-East Asian ancestry have a cultural problem.

A full 95% of the global supply of that powerful synthetic opiate called Fentanyl that kills thousands of Americans every year, is produced in China. They Chinese have devised devious ways of smuggling Fentanyl into the USA so that the mass extermination of Americans can continue uninterrupted. Fentanyl, 50 times more potent than heroin, is killing off an entire generation of Americans, while Chinese drug smugglers cackle with glee over the blood money they amass while selling cheap overdose deaths to the American public.

The destruction to rivers, forests and farm crops wrought by mostly illegal Chinese miners in Ghana, Gambia, and Senegal, Cameroons and Congo among many African nations, stands as sobering testimony to the amoral and nihilistic character of Chinese nationals who lay waste in utter ruination our planet's environment with industrial-scale deforestation paired with rampant air, soil and water pollution.

By offering loans for ultimately wasteful white elephant projects WORLDWIDE, China seeks to leverage unpaid loans into a systematic process of land grabs on every continent comprising our fragile planet. Once those forcibly and dubiously annexed lands are the property of China, there is no further impediment to their plunder of all mineral and natural resources by China, leaving ravaged wasteland in its wake.

The West has PLUNDERED Africa more than anywhere else. The claim that China is plundering Africa is mendacious, considering it is being forced to share technical know-how and invest in the country. Chinese investors have invested in factories across the continent, especially when compelled by law. Up there, another Nairalander posted how Zims learnt from the Chinese, where there is a factory to process their mines. Something the British nor Americans never did.

I have read about Galamsey and Ghanaian traditional chiefs and politicians were fingered (using our journalist's lingo). The same happens in Nigeria. So, the Chinese are not working independently. However, where there is no corrupt mentality among the host's politicians, Chinese investors open factories; this has happened in Ogun, Ebonyi and Nasarawa states. Don't our people deserve good jobs again? 500K is very good to an entry-level graduate in Lafia.

Exactly, I'm not pro-China or pro-Russia as a few have implied, but the West has a bloody and despicable track record on the continent of Africa. China has invested heavily in Africa, they don't get themselves involved in our domestic policies and affairs, neither do they fund insurgencies and uprisings. Who can say that about the West?

Watch what Professor Howard Nicholas said about their plan for Africa. I wish folks across the continent watch it to connect dots.

The Chinese have INVESTED in Africa more than the West have done. China is Africa's biggest trade partner. Chinese are building factories in Nasarawa, where graduates earn 500K per month. Chinese have built trains to transport containers from the north central to Lagos ports (first of its kind). Chinese are building factories in Kastina state. Chinese are building factories in Ogun state. Chinese are in Abia and Ebonyi building factories.

As it is, it is easier to get a visa to visit China than to visit the US. This is just Nigeria alone.

Just when the Chinese announced investment worth $350m into Angola's agricultural industry? huh

Few days ago, the same "protests" in Indonesia where Chinese investors have ploughed over $5BN into factories and mines.

Why are some people unhappy with Chinese investments across the global south?
Do your own research. Chinese don't care about your country. They are taking over many African and other countries, strategically, quietly and steadily.

They have bought up almost 30 % of the estate I live in ,in less than 10 years.

They pull down Massive duplexes that have been there for decades and build block of flats that are almost touching each other.

You're now more likely to see Chinese, then Indians strolling on.sunday evenings or walking weekday mornings, than Nigerians. They have driven up the price of properties. Its scary.

China's population of billions is overflowing in their homeland so they are buying up countries far away from China, one square mile at a time, to create "Greater China".

In 15 years from today in 2025, and if the Angola treatment is not meted out to the Chinese all over the world, they will own the entire planet, and then proceed to wreak comprehensive devastation by deforesting and mining with toxic chemicals to their heart's content.

China owns Eritrea militarily right now. In that nation, anyone seeking work in the vast number of Chinese owned industries, will be FORCED to sing praise songs for the Chinese Communist Party every morning, just as is done in China. In Eritrea, there is a massive Chinese military base that houses thousands of battle ready ethnic Chinese troops ready to decisively neutralize any Africans that dare try to interfere with that armed occupation. In West Africa, it is Ghana that is already a de-facto Chinese colony, and in that country, ancient hardwood tropical rainforests are being voraciously consumed and reduced to barren, charred wastelands by Chinese timber exporters who have bought the government there lock, stock and barrel.

To be fair though, Zimbabwe has a superior education system compared to Angola. But then, kudos to the Zims. This is what I have been preaching about: negotiate man to man with the Chinese and they would adjust, just without bombing the country.

So, an Angolan fault, not the Chinese. Got it. But $8BN on a hospital? I've never heard that a hospital costs so much.
You are correct, Mugabe never neglected Zimbabwe's education, which ensures that despite the economic sanctions against Zimbabwe, the country has still been able to develop its steel, platinum, tourism and mining industry.

Angola, like Nigeria, has a political class that is more disastrous than the exploitative foreigners

It's also a trap in disguise there is no free lunch any where they would hold on to pivotal economic Jugular like Control of Sea Ports for a number of years or Agriculture once they default it's already playing out in Countries like Kenya....
They are not releasing funds but would carry out developmental projects which is good it's most better than Imf and world bank in that regards

How many of your country nationals have been killed illegally in foreign lands, mr. Man! What danger has that brought up for countries like Italy, Libya, China, India and lately Ghana where Nigerians have been killed in one way or the other under one guise of the other?

Is the Chinese man the president of the Angolans before Angolans came out to dash the Chinese a taste of the nonsense they can give black Africans but they can't take?

We are talking this one is bringing government into the matter...

So they should kill the Chinese abi? Do you know what danger that will cause for the country......your govt is running your country irresponsibly, you are then blaming the Chinese for your woes.....is a Chinese man the president or in govt?

Nothing wrong with this. It is a capitalist world. Did the Chinese stop/prevent you from doing the same? Who sold off these properties to the Chinese if not people like you? Has anyone said you should not buy properties just as the Chinese do? The solution is for the Lagos state government to invest in public housing. The Chinese aren't solely responsible for the property and rent increment in Lagos when it's Nigeria's smallest state with the biggest economy and is the most populous.

During Yar'Adua's and Jonathan's administration. I think even to Buhari's tenure, Angola went above us in oil production.

Looking at your post about their airport, for an oil-rich country, that was very poor. This means some states (aside Lagos and Abuja) are better off than some African countries' capitals. No wonder some of our people would go there and blow quickly because of the poor exposure those people have. The koko is to go there, do your stuff quietly and make an insane amount of money. Yes, there are alot of igbos here trading spare parts and used clothes in bales and many yorubas in the corporate sector mostly oil and gas.
The issue i have with some of them is that they dislike seeing other blacks being their boss. They rather prefer a white to control them than maybe we nigerians or south africans. I have thought out of something based on the above: Nigerians who move to non-English speaking countries and are prepared to assimilate in the language and culture have higher chances at financial success compared to their contemporaries (with the same education/environmental background) in Anglophone countries. The theory is that the competition is low since it is non-Anglophone, but also, the possibilities of becoming that success story are high because such a person is not abundant. This depends on the country's economy and the available opportunities. This means Nigerians in Angola have higher chances of excelling, provided they learn Portuguese and take massive advantage of the opportunities there. Again, because it is non-Anglophone, the competition is low compared to, say, South Africa. Another example is Ivory Coast vs Ghana.

In a world of instant clicks and social media, one way to prevent envy is to be quiet while succeeding. Make an insane amount of money and no one knows you are making such because it is non-Anglophone. You can have all their women to yourself, and no one would know. You become a king in another man's land! grin

The issue i have with some of them is that they dislike seeing other blacks being their boss. They rather prefer a white to control them than maybe we nigerians or south africans. They see us as the same level and wonder why we will get more paid than them doing jobs they feel other angolanas can do.
Colonial mentality: in that they are used to seeing Whites as leaders/superiors and thus, they believe that Whites are superior to say their fellow Blacks. However, when faced with a Black person as a superior, especially one who is not of the same ethnic group as they are, they become upset and believe that they (Angolans in this case) can perform the same task, which is untrue because if they could, why didn't they rise to the top?

This mainly exists in groups that are at the back of the foot in human development, so when they see someone with the same skin colour but of a different ethnicity or nationality leading them in their land, they are not happy. In a way, it reminds them of their incompetence, so to mask it, they would rather have someone from a different racial group. This happens in Nigeria as well. But I won't digress. There is also the phenomenon where someone from a racial group, say Black, becomes the superior in a country with few Black people. This can happen in Asian countries, and it is a reason one would be hard pressed to find a Black person leading an organisation in an Asian country because the natives believe they are superior to Blacks. This has happened to a prominent Black journalist who was posted to represent the newspaper in Japan. The Japanese boss, according to the Black journalist, was upset that the American media company sent a Black man rather than a White man. This happened during the late '90s. Heck, even African Americans do raise eyebrows when Black Africans, especially Nigerians, are their superiors rather than a White person.

This has played out in Hong Kong and Singapore versus Mainland China, where the former were wealthier than the latter and felt like the superior Chinese. However, as Mainland China became affluent and more powerful, HKers and Singaporeans got upset either at the behaviours of Mainland Chinese (nouveau rich vs old money sort of thing) or the perceived pride and dominance of Mainland Chinese. Hong Kongers adjusted quickly, largely due to geography, rather than Chinese Singaporeans, but the latter have had to eventually adjust as their economy is linked to Mainland China. This culminated in Singapore granting visa free access to Mainland China, which is uncommon for such a populous country. To date, Japan has refused to do the same, nor has Singapore done the same for India, even though it has a native Indian population.

This has also happened in Barbados and the greater Caribbean, where the natives serve White tourists better than Black tourists, even though the Black person is willing to spend more. The truth is that these Caribbean people have been so used to serving and seeing White people, so they accord greater respect to them compared to Black people. So, they would be antsy when they see a Black person who is not of their kith become their boss or lead them.

As for Angolans, what I am curious about is their reaction if they have a Black Brazilian or Black Ecuadorian, or African American as a superior? I am also surprised that they are upset at Black South Africans, who ordinarily should dominate that part of the continent, just as we dominate West Africa and Kenyans do theirs at East Africa.

Generally, sub-sahara africa is poor including Nigeria and excluding south africa but what differentiates the average Nigerian from others is the Mentality and Flare for success.

An open eye Nigerian can make a kill in such a society, but for safety purposes, the person has to be discreet and play along. Live a simple life while amassing so much money. Nigeria hardens people naturally, so where else in Africa can be tougher? Another thing is that our various ethnic groups are divergent in this hustle mindset, as we have groups with the above characteristics in Nigeria. But because we are together in the country, some have to adapt or kpeme. Those nations do not have such in abundance as we do.

Just see Pictures of Luanda their capital taken 10 mins ago
In their defence, Angola had a civil war for almost 30 years, almost a generation. Some states in Nigeria had not tasted oil wealth, but when they did, there were remarkable changes. So, the blame is on Angolan elites for not utilising their wealth for greater purposes.
