Who Will Win This Year's Champions League? by AnonPoet(op): 2:43pm On Sep 16, 2025
The Champions League is back, bringing midweek chaos, dramatic collapses, and managers calling group-stage games “must-win finals.”

PSG finally broke their bottling curse last season with a 5–0 demolition of Inter Milan, but let’s be honest: nobody saw that coming.

And to make it even funnier, they did it without Kylian Mbappé, the man who bolted for Madrid the summer before. Narrative gods, we salute you.

Premier League Hype: Contenders or Group-Stage Merchants?

Every year the Premier League sends its “best” to Europe, and every year at least one of them embarrasses themselves. Arsenal return with swagger but San Mamés on a Tuesday isn’t exactly the Emirates against Luton.

Chelsea are trying to fast-track their teenage Avengers project into something resembling a Champions League side. Manchester City already look like they’re stuck in February form, all the ball, none of the conviction.

Newcastle? Great story, but they’re about to find out there’s a big difference between Europe on Football Manager and the real thing.

Spain’s Two Faces: Heritage or Hype?

Real Madrid live for this competition. Mbappé is finally in white, Bellingham’s running midfield like a seasoned general, and the Bernabéu expects nothing less than another run deep into May.

But here’s the twist: Barcelona actually look scary again. Hansi Flick’s taken a talented but erratic squad and turned them into goal-scoring monsters, winning both La Liga and the Copa del Rey last season.

They were one defensive error away from reaching the final, and now they’ve got a young, fearless side that bangs in fours and fives for fun.

The question is whether this Barça team is ready to crash Europe’s biggest party… or if Madrid will just pull rank and remind everyone that they are THE Champions League team.

Dark Horses or Dead Horses?

Napoli aren’t lurking anymore, they’re leading the pack.

Fresh off a Scudetto under Antonio Conte, with De Bruyne and Højlund adding more power, they look like the one “outsider” nobody wants to face.

Similarly, Juventus, under Igor Tudor, can still grind out results. That 4-3 chaos against Inter proves it, but their attack is patchy and their defence cracks under pressure.

Tottenham, now with Thomas Frank, have firepower and fresh ideas, but history says Spurs in Europe usually means drama, not trophies.

European nights? Doing well in the Premier League doesn’t always translate in the Champions League knockout chaos.

Full Season Predictions

Favourite – PSG: Defending champions. Proved they can win without Mbappé, now the target on their back is massive.

Challenger – Liverpool: Slot-ball has started with energy and freshness, but Europe is a different beast than the Eredivisie.

Wildcard – Chelsea: Cole Palmer might just carry them to a semi-final before the defence inevitably crumbles.

Dark Horse – Napoli: One of those sides nobody wants to face. If they stay fit, they could drag someone into a tactical graveyard.

Our Pick – Barcelona: Flick has them scoring goals for fun, the kids are fearless, and they’re hungry to plant the blaugrana flag back on Europe’s peak.

Real Madrid or Barcelona, none of the EPL teams stand the chance
Re: Who Will Win This Year's Champions League? by SMJay: 3:29pm On Sep 16, 2025
Key contenders

These are teams that probably have the best shot, based on recent stats, squad strength, experience etc.:

Team

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Defending champions; strong squad; confidence from winning the title last season. Every team is now gunning for them; could be fatigue; tough group/stage matchups.

Liverpool Strong performances in recent tournaments; consistent high-level play; good depth. Sometimes defensive lapses; must avoid slip-ups in knockout games.

Barcelona Good record, big experience in Europe; talented roster; well-used to competing deep. Recent managerial / tactical instability; pressure is high; must stay consistent.

Real Madrid Historic pedigree; Mbappé & others giving them firepower; strong in big matches. Aging players; sometimes shaky in certain fixtures; injuries can hit.

Manchester City Usually strong; Manchester City tends to perform well in Europe when it counts. They’ve had ups and downs; Champions League pressure + schedule load are real.

I'm giving it to chelsea fc 💙.
If it comes to European football, they are a 😈 demon of their legions.
They are young, fast, growing, learning and looking forward to a promising future 😀.
The tactical master piece of their coach, the ball awareness of Palmer and caicedo, the defensive agility of cucurella, fofana and collwell and the new attacking prowess of joa Pedro,Pedro neto, delap and estavao is enough to win them the league.
Chelsea is the right blend of youthful attack and an experience defensive line, aided by a coaching tactical master piece.

I admire them a lot.

Judging by antecedents and the chemistry of consistency with their ambition towards the trophy, arsenal is the best candidate.
Re: Who Will Win This Year's Champions League? by Hemanwel(m):
This is too early to pick.

However, considering the current strength of the teams before injury problems begin to set in, I will pick:

Arsenal
Liverpool
City
Chelsea
PSG
Barcelona
Real Madrid.

The trophy is surely going the way of the aforementioned.
