Can anyone please recommend a good installer in Port Harcourt? |

Tdoctor:Bros, this was my problem with Lead Acid too... I became a "manager of power sagging management" with LA until I got Lithium I didn't know life is this sweet.. Imagine at evening after work, fridge is on, family is microwaving, in the morning as early as 6am they are microwaving for school and me going to work yet lithium stands strong without sagging but gradual diplation... Please why is Lead Acid still in the market? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by AinsSama: 1:44pm On Sep 16, 2025 |
Fakeisfake:Lead Acid you mean. Cos LiFePo4 is here to stay until an even better chemistry is manufactured and bcoms widely available. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Fakeisfake: 2:08pm On Sep 16, 2025 |
AinsSama:Yes modified. Was my typing error. With the way both chemistry works, really I now think the application of LA is not for inverter use, maybe for "kazeen" to jump start or just for lighting point without heavy loads... Anyway, seen alot of arguments of comparison, let's not start it again and share better experiences for people to decide solely by self |

Tdoctor:This is the real-life experience of every Lead Acid battery user. It was my life for many years when I was on Lead Acid. The State of Charge (SOC) is almost meaningless in an LA setup. The koko is the voltage your battery is reading after putting loads on it. In those days I only pump and boil water during the day when there is good sunlight. Microwave is limited only to daytime, no AC. I even banned a particularly high wattage boiling kettle because it was always shutting down my inverter. But since I switched to lithium, I have peace of mind. I rarely check my voltage now, only SOC. I pump water early in the morning (to ensure good shower pressure), boil water in the morning (to ensure that no one complains about hot water not enough) and use microwave, toaster, boiling kettle and AC any time including in the night. To show how confident I became about voltage sag, my inverter cut off voltage is set to 50V. Voltage sag is one major reason I will never go back to Lead Acid. |

Please Has anyone mixed lithium and lead acid batteries before in a safe manner? I know you can't parallel them. I want to buy a 12V lithium battery with good BMS connect it to a 1800W step up converter 12v to 48v and use it as a DC source. Charging will be with an external charger as lithium and lead acid have different charge profiles. Will this work? |

Posting since it may come in handy for someone. For anyone who's trying to hard reset an SRNE HF series inverter, the steps are to - Disconnect all sources apart from battery - Press and hold the Up and Down buttons together till a square starts to flash - Shut down the inverter with the inverter's power switch - Wait till screen goes off, and then turn it back on SRNE manufactures units for companies like Powmr, Renogy, Midnite Solar and some other brands so this may work for those as well. |

Tdoctor:+-7 Nope, you will get into all sorts of trouble. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Tdoctor(m): 12:09pm On Sep 17, 2025 |
adrusa:What kind of trouble? I have gone through several videos on YouTube that suggest it is possible. I want to find out the experience of anyone who has attempted it. |

klevotino:My name is T Udoh with MTN Lumos box number 217977, WARNING please avoid using this box, even after you have used it for nearly 6years and paid off to claim the boX MTN Lumos still takes full control of the box and deactivate the inverter converter section the two holes where the inverter is Inserted, there will be no more light on that session of the box, that means you cannot use the box to power any items such as Laptops, TV or radios etc, the only section that will be available for you is the USB Section and the 4 small little light connectors at the right section under the USB slot It's a scam, there are no 10 years or unlimited validity on this product as claimed, they still have full control and are manipulating the device to frustrate customer, I have contacted them they said I have past warranty period, they do this so you can return the box and they will recycle it and resell with new account This service from them is only valid for 6 years so don't waste your hard earn money, to enjoy uninterrupted power supply please go for other solar power on JUMIA and see your life change, it carries 20x loads far more than what this useless MTN Lumos box cannot even carry Beware! |

HeavenlyBang:Infact, I pray this troubleshoot works, my SRNE high pv inverter doesn't start charging automatically until I power on a big appliance like a hot plate before it commences charging and even after the battery n when it's full but a few minute cloud cover, it won't restart charging automatically unless I manually power on a big appliance as well |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by HeavenlyBang(m): 1:58pm On Sep 17, 2025 |
Edrizz:Exactly same issue I was facing. If you shut down the entire system, it fixes it for a day or two but after that it's back to square one. I hard resetted it a few days ago and it's been fine so fingers crossed. Doesn't seem like a hardware issue, just a software one. Try the reset. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Edrizz(m): 2:06pm On Sep 17, 2025 |
HeavenlyBang:At around past 12, the stuff was still not charging, so I started to boil water on the hot plate so that it would resume charging n few minutes into it, I logged on to find ur post though immediately I switched off the hot plate it resumed charging but I still did the troubleshooting as u alighted above... I pray it solves d software issue once n for all |

Tdoctor:Yes yes and yes I know a friend that has a 10kwh lithium and 4 tubular batteries connected in parallel together to a 6kva Growatt. Everything is working fine no issues since march 2025 till today. |

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Nobody: 3:38pm On Sep 17, 2025 |
silvergreen:Thanks for this, MTN is one Org that I really wish the almighty hand of the Law will touch them well enough to make them go bankrupt. These guys have been extorting Nigerians since time immemorial. Run away from anything MTN other than their Network service (no strong competitors anyways). |

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by durodee(m): 8:18pm On Sep 17, 2025 |
Tdoctor:Likely 48v. I have connected such in the past BUT if you really parallel them, then you must understand that you have to sacrifice one set up for the other. That means that your charging profile should have to favour one battery type as you cannot do both. The other way is TWO Independent battery bank with a changeover switch to select which bank to use with your inverter. Each battery will now have a CC with the appropriate charging profile. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 8:58pm On Sep 17, 2025 |
Tdoctor:@HeavenlyBang already gave you an appropriate response BUT still, you didn't tell us the voltage of your battery bank as Higher voltage banks tends to stress the battery lesser than their lower counterparts |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 9:05pm On Sep 17, 2025 |
Fakeisfake:you need understand they can't just phase out the next to best battery chemistry overNight. Lithium battery chemistry is still young + not yet perfect, Before Lithium batteries, we were comfortable with LeadAcid chemistry. Despite HDMI and the newer technologies, we still got displayPort, VGA, etc. Even Tape drives are still very much in use despite we having Hard Disks, and the much newer SSD technology. Abi say make all other devices not using Type C port to vanish Kindly understand there's a place for everything. Even the Lithium chemistry ain't perfect yet + not yet affordable mainstream. Mind you, a lot of us spend heavily on batteries we really don't need hence we end up under Utilizing said battery. |

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 9:08pm On Sep 17, 2025 |
Tdoctor:Don't. Mind you, when you mix 2 batteries of varying capacity and strength, the WEAKer would kill the STRONGer |
